I spent three nights at the Ixchel Beach Hotel in late April. This was my first trip to Isla Mujeres. Overall, I really liked this hotel, which is a condominium complex that is operated as a hotel. I rented a standard room in the Phase II building. I rented directly from the owner via vrbo, and that worked out fine... More

We stayed in a condo at this hotel for about a week. It was a lovely location - very laid-back, relaxing and well-located on the island. We had breakfast delivered to us every morning so that we could enjoy it on the balcony while taking in the ocean views and sea air. We also enjoyed the island tremendously - it... More

We began planning a trip to Isla Mujeres over a year ago, and made reservations at Ixla Beach Hotel nearly 10 months before, based on a very nice stay we had enjoyed in 2007. This latest visit did not play out as well. Don't get me wrong - there are some nice accommodations at the hotel. But the appointments don't... More

We stayed from Apr 18 thru Apr 25, 2009.Rented Penthouse 703 thru the hotel website. The was a delayed honeymoon and the views were astounding! So, in all fairness, it was worth every penny because I'm not sure what 5 star means! Rooms were large & spotless. Great maid service. Water Jug dispenser in the small kitchen. We did not... More

I was at isla mujeres for a wedding and spent one night is the penthouse with a beautiful rooftop terrace and jacuzzi and two night in a double room. Both places were nice to stay in. The restaurant at the hotel is really good (great fish tacos) and it's located right on the beach and close to lots of other... More

If you’ve ever wondered what Isla Mujeres looks like from a Goddess’s perspective, check into Ixchel Penthouse #709. Situated on the furthest Northern tip of the East tower of condos, #709 boasts the most breathtaking view on the island. You feel as if you’re up in the clouds on the 7th floor, the tallest accommodation in Isla Mujeres. The condo... More

It is hard to find too much fault with the hotel. It is located on a beautiful beach. My twelve and eight year old daughters swam in both the pool and the ocean. My mother-in-law, 78, also enjoyed the beach and pool Staff at the hotel are quick to supply beach umbrellas, or food/drink at reasonable prices. They were very... More

We stayed at the East Tower (older tower) at rooms 503/504. We have dealt with the condo owner (Cecilia) before and she has always been responsive, helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, her condo is always booked so we've had to stay at other rooms in this tower. This time, however, her penthouse condo was available and it... More

The location can't be beat if you want to be on a lovely beach and near the town center all at once. (the beach is much improved since 6 months ago due to some sandbagging and beach reclamation activities). This is not a "resort" where you'd stay the entire time nor is the beach "private" by any means. These are... More

Contrary to other reviews, this place did have "soul". The staff went above and beyond and was always cordial and welcoming. The rooms are clean, bright and very modern in taste. True, there is not much of Mexico in the decor, but one would know that by the photos. Just walk out the door and go up a block or... More
