I visited this hotel searching for a place for a couple of college kids coming to visit us. In its day, it may have been quite the place. A beautiful courtyard but, a pool that needed cleaning. The rooms are small but adequate and outdated. The price of a room was about $40.00 but for longer stays negotiable. Satisfactory for... More

The manager was very unplesent to us, we asked for a reading lamp after checking in and we wanted to see another room because of the unkleen sheets on the beds and he put our money on the desk and asked us to leave immidiatly.. When we told him that we just want another room he got angry and told... More

I can't comment on the reservation system ( we were a "walk in"), but the place is clean, our room was clean, quiet, comfortable, etc. Good value. The little courtyard pool is a really nice touch for a cool-off after walking all over town in the hot sun..And you will probably meet some other travellers doing the same. The front... More

My wife and I have been at the Casa Espana for 4 months now and we love it. There is a small pool and the courtyard is gorgeous. It is very quiet since all rooms are around a courtyard recessed from the street and thus insulated from traffic noise. There are 4 negative reviews on Trip Adviser but these are... More

I stayed 3 nights at Casa Espana. When we arrived, the lady at the desk wasn't able to confirm or find the reservation my friend had made, even if he received a confirmation from the people working there. Finally the lady manage to give us 2 rooms. There was no hot water for the shower. The pool outside is appreciated... More

I stayed for several months at Hotel Casa España in Isla Mujeres, Mexico until, I had my Trek Mountain Bike stolen. The mountain bike I brought from Colorado, USA with me then it was stolen straight out of my room. When I informed the owners of the Hotel of the robbery they said that they were not responsible because the... More

there was absolutely no draught in our hot top floor room, despite window and door being open. The AC was unusable as it created just noise, no cold air. the linen looked dubious. anything else? no. Well yes. for the same price we found a nice little, clean and cool hotel just 150m further :-)

I booked twelve nights at Casa Espana based on the positive reviews on TripAdvisor, but I left after four nights. My only explanation for all the positive reviews is that some people have no idea of what hotels in Isla Mujeres cost. I easily found several hotels that were nicer for half the price. I have done a great deal... More

We found this lovely little hotel upon arriving on the island. It is small and personal with thirteen suites/rooms surrounding a beatiful tropical garden courtyard. My husband and I were traveling with our two children (aged 10 and 13), and we found our suite with two double beds and small kitchen was perfect. The beds were very comfortable and the... More

My spouse and I booked a week in the "luxury borbon suite" at Casa Espana based on the photos and description sent to us by the hotel representative. The price was $100 US per night and we paid 2 nights in advance to guarantee the reservation. This hotel is a couple of blocks from the west beach, and perhaps a... More
