I was on IM in mid-Jan and this being at least the fiftieth time on the island, I obviously like the place....but...for the first time ever, as I was exiting the ferry, I heard someone say something about "luggage in the water". I KNEW absolutely, (even though I was hoping otherwise), that this was MY large, black suitcase sitting on... more

I spent six nights at this hotel from 5/25-5/30. I thought it was a great a little hotel. It is a great location on Isla. Everything is blocks away. It is centered right on Hidalgo which is the main drag in town. I stayed in room 100 with a friend of mine. There were two beds. One downstair and one... more

This was my first trip out of the US. I didn't know what to expect. For one, considering what we were paying, were we going to be in squallor? I ended up being in love with this LITTLE hotel. There are much finer options around but I felt like this family run business really has very good food, clean rooms... more

Weve stayed at Bucaneros before but this was absolutely the worst service ever!! When we checked in they were telling us about all the promotions that we were supposed to recieve because of the length of our stay but EVERYTHING had some sort of twist to it. Breakfast which last year was a full breakfast was now toast and juice.... more

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days and found it very adequate - in our room! We were in #104 with two double beds, fridge, AC, coffee maker, fry pan, several plates, glasses and tableware - although there was no place to eat except on the beds, the washroom sink doubled for doing dishes and the fry pan sat... more

My first trip to Mexico - met some family there who had been before to Isla. Hotel was pretty much what you pay for. My sister and I shared room on 'first' floor and the two double beds were firm and the room was clean. The bathroom had a little mildew and the a/c was testy but all in all... more

This will have been our 3rd stay at Bucaneros. We always feel like we are returning home. It is wonderful when the staff recognizes us. Eyder is the best! We have always stayed in room 102. We love seating on our balcony watching Hildalgo come to life in the morning and come alive at night for dinning. We have never... more

I stayed with my teenage son in Bucaneros in December. I am still confused about our stay there. The staff, especially the old man was so unkind (never said at least "buenos dias") that I still wonder why. Was it because I am women traveling alone with kid or what it was? I don't know, but his and some other... more

We initially planned to stay 2 nights at the hotel but our flight got delayed for one day. The 2 nights were already paid but at the chek in they offer a full refund for the night we didn't used without me asking anything . One can find that normal, i will say it is not usual. So first quality... more
