This past January was my forth time staying at Las Palmas and I am already looking forward to my fifth stay coming up in January. Kate and Safari are awesome hosts, and are more friends now than just owners of the hotel that I stay at. If you want a hotel with marble floors, a pool and flat screen TVs... More

Katie and safari has been the best hosts you can find. Warm, always ready to give you tips what to see or do. Friendly and calm people! We really appreciated the morning coffe,... More

This was our second visit to Las Palmas and it was even better! Here's why you should stay there.....Great location, friendly owners who provide a wealth of information and advice, reasonable rates that include many extras. The extras are purified water, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, free coffee, basic supplies in kitchen, sunscreen, snorkel gear and more. The hotel... More

We arrived on Isla Mujeres with no accommodation and found Las Palmas by driving around town in our golf buggy and seeing the the bright exterior. The hotel is built around a small paved courtyard and has a large terrace with small plunge pool and open kitchen on the roof. Kate was welcoming from the outset, she explained the rooms... More

We stayed at several hotels thru the years but this is where we felt most safe. The rooms are clean and spacious and the maids are friendly. Kate and Safari are very helpful and treat us like family. Looking forward to next year.

Usually I dislike hotels, they are such impersonal places. A blank room with no soul. What I love about Las Palmas, is it has soul. Each room is unique and has a personal touch. It feels like home because it is home to Kate, Safari and Dania who live there. You are a welcome guest in their home of a... More

We stayed at Hotel las palmas after collecting my Sister from cancun airport. Its a lovely place to stay in a great location close to the beach and all of the bars and restaurants. This is our fourth stay on the island and 3 1/2 times at Las Palmas. The last time was 2011 and we loved it then... We did not think it could get better but we were wrong. They have continued to upgrade and improve. The roof top patio is now half covered for shade with 2 new hammocks and a... More

Just finished 2 wonderful weeks on Isla at Las Palmas with Kate and Safari. We stayed at Nautibeach and 2 other places before finding Las Palmas Hotel. This was our fifth year returning to stay with them. Wonderful, quiet, community atmosphere. Singing and salsa on the rooftop deck. Fresh squeezed juice and veggies across street at local market. Booked 3... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Las Palmas is your home away from home on Isla Mujeres, tucked away from the hustle-bustle of Cancun. We are a family run hotel (three generations of women, mother-daughter and grand-daughter). Naturally, our place is a very unpretentious accommodation with a casual, friendly atmosphere. We have many comfy communal areas, including a rooftop with a plunge pool. You'll find lounge chairs, hammocks, and tables with chairs to welcome you after a day at the beach - possibly an afternoon siesta. Our communal kitchen is also on the terrace and fully equipped. Our shaded deck on our second level, overlooking the street and is a great spot for people watching or reading a good book.We are located in the heart of the downtown. The beautiful turquoise of the Caribbean and powdery sand beach at Playa Norte are a block away (5 min walk). Just around the corner is Hidalgo Avenue, filled with cuisine from all over the world, live music, and friendly locals and tourists alike. We're directly across from the municipal market with four "loncheria" eating stalls, housing tasty, economical breakfast-lunch meals, as well as fresh squeezed juices. We have a hotel dog, Cachito (hypoallergenic, rasta-hair poodle) who is always ready for a stroll. ... more   less
