We stayed here on a prebooked trip to snorkel with the Whale Sharks. The hotel has 12 rooms on the water with a very nice pool. The beach in front is small and has rocks, but famous North Beach is a few mins walk away. The towns restaurants are also very close, 5 mins walk. The rooms are luxurious and... More

this hotel is amazing. Only 12 rooms. with gorgeous swimming pool and unbelievably helpful staff. When we got there we immediately jumped into the pool and they brought out little glasses of champagne for us, that we drank under the stars. Hotel is also walking distance from (in my opinion) the best beach on the island. It's a classy, discrete,... More

My wife and I have been going to Isla every year since 1992. We have stayed in every Hotel on the island....except Secreto! We just got home from our trip this year and can't understand why it took us so long. The location is perfect....Hildago is just two blocks away, as is Playa Norte, but the Hotel is literally "secreted"... More

1st of all this boutique,12 room hotel, was very clean, secure, private and friendly. If it was on South Beach/Miami it would not get 5 stars- but it is on Isla Mujeres, Mexico so compared to other options it is certainly deserving of a great ranking. If you are looking for a party then avoid Secreto. If you are looking... More

Great location and quiet hotel, we loved breakfast room service and service overall was fantastic. Reserve 4th floor room for best ocean view and fantastic ocean breeze. Hotel is walking distance of Main Street of restaurants and stores (3 small blocks away) and best beach in Isla Mujeres - Playa Norte (another 3 blocks away).

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Hotel Secreto. The hotel has potential, but it is unfortunately unnecessarily filthy. We actually considered cutting our trip short because the conditions at the hotel were so deplorable. We booked a room on an upper floor in order to have a better view, but immediately upon entering the room, my wife... More

This was my first time on Isla Mujeres and I thought it was beautiful, beginning with this boutique hotel I happened upon. The service was amazing, yes it was windy but Cancun was also, the swimming beach is a block away and shows off the gorgeous sunset. They have a pool and the view is spectacular as the waves hit... Total lack of care and upkeep - gorgeous ocean-view glass on both our patio and the pool was filthy/filmy for most of our stay, the area pool itself unkempt - two of the day beds so beautifully featured on the website are torn, with stuffing spilling out, frayed carpets on the steps in hallway, terribly old plumbing - rooms smell... We have just returned after two days at this lovely hotel. The staff were charming and helpful and the hotel chic and intimate. Rooms and overall interior absolutely stunning. The only reason we have given four stars rather than 5 is due to the rooms being rather damp - in need of a de-humidifier. Would definitely go back and recommend.

We recently stayed here 3 nights; that was plenty. I enjoyed the visit, but I truly believe the accolades given by Fodors and Trip Advisor are a bit overreaching.. While I don't doubt Secreto was once of the best boutique hotels in Mexico, I seriously doubt that remains the case. The huge rooms are truly an oasis and, yes the... More
