The rooms are adequate, not really decorated but they are very clean and have air conditioning. The kitchen is well equipped. The only thing that would have been appreciated was screens on the windows and the sliding glass door to the patio - to keep bugs out and let the wonderful breezes in! The view from the patio is amazing... more

We loved our stay at Playa Gaviota...then again we're not very hard to please. We rented one of the two beach 'cottages', the one on the right which has a (or did have a) palm tree close by for some shade. The rooms were spacious (pictures attached) w/ kitchenette including mini fridge and the beach was quiet and relaxing. Water... more

Playa Gaviota Is a great place to spend your vacation! We had room #5 if you are looking at the Apt. from the road it's the top left. We had daily maid service (except on Sunday and Holidays) The sheets and towels where nice and changed daily. Don't plan and making any big dinners as you have basic plates and... more

April, 2008 We found this property to be exactly how we had pictured it. We are so glad that we chose this side of the island away from the hussle and bussle of town. Golf carts, scooters, and taxis, are plentiful. We were able to walk so many places from this area. We stayed in one of the upper units... more

We stayed in one of the beach bungalow's. It might not have been a 5 star resort, but it was clean. We had maid service everyday and the porter that lived on site was tripping over himself to be of service to us. We enjoyed the fact it was away from town. It was quite, peaceful and private. more

We stayed at Playa Gaviota for 4 nights from 1st June. We stayed in Deluxe Upper 7#. In spite of its name it was actually the lowest apartment with no sea or sunset view. As for 'Deluxe' this couldn't have been further from the truth. It was very shabby, dirty and with a serious ant problem . We chose this place... more

We stayed at Playa Gaviota from Feb. 28 - March 9, 2007 & absolutely loved it! Beautiful beach, secluded, & private. We stayed in the Beach Cottage #1 (I would recommend cottage #1 rather than #2 - we got late afternoon shade). Our cottage had a kitchen w/ a 4-burner gas stove, small frig, toaster, coffer-maker, & blender. BR was... more

The hotel room was nice and big. It was nice there because there is much more privacy than some hotels. Most of the time there wasn't anyone on the beach. There was a refrigerator and a range, but the range was working. It would have been nice to leave the windows open at night but the rooster would crow every... more

This was our 2nd time at the Gaviota and we really do love the rooms, the people, the beach, etc. The location is excellent. We walked to the end of Sac Bajo each morning (he runs, I walk) and would stop buy and see the turtles and have a bite to eat at Tiburon or Lanchero's on the way back.... more

Playa Gaviota, a property owned by The Lost Oasis. We stayed in the Beach Unit. By beach unit, you are literally on the beach. Although the water is not ideal for swimming in, it served ok for cooling off and returning to the hammock or the beach lounge chair. We spent many nights here watching the sun set. Our beach... more
