This review is very late but I tell you this was a wonderful place to stay. We are going back in Feb2015 for 4 days. We stayed last year in Jan for 10 days. The couple that run the place are great. Everything that we needed was attended to. Resturant was also very good. Clean, quiet and what a view. The room... More

We stayed in the Tulipan room. It was excellent. The personnel was very friendly and Eduardo was a big help in arranging necessities for us. The hotel has a small pool with an amazing view and direct access to the sea. The room good with a 1 person bath and a spacious balcony (2 chairs + table, 2 rocking chairs... More

We had a great time at La Joya and Juan is a fantastic cook. The ceviche is fantastic and probably the best on the isla. Eduardo is the new manager and is super friendly and really works hard to make sure you enjoy your time there. The rooms are very clean and a nice respite from the bustle of town.... More

I wanted to swim with whale sharks, so a friend found us a room at Hotel La Joya. What luck! This gorgeous hotel is built into a hillside, so each unit has a veranda, with a hammock, table, and chairs overlooking the sea. Breakfast was included in our rate, and we could have it delivered to enjoy the food and... More

The views from La Joya are quite beautiful. The hotel itself is relaxing and comfortable and the staff was accommodating. However, upon booking, I did not realize how far away La Joya is from the main town of Isla Mujeres. It is a 15 minute cab ride to the center of town and there is nothing within walking distance of... More

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Joya, but think our stay could have been improved with a few extra touches to make it excellent rather than average. The manager was very friendly when we arrived, but immediately took us into the TINY reception and started calculating what we owed which we had to pay immediately. we... More

We spent 3 nights here in June. The hotel is just as beautiful as it looks in the photos. It is quite rustic and decorated in traditional Mexican style. The staff were all wonderful, very friendly and helpful. A light breakfast of toast, juice, coffee and fruit is included in the room rate and is served on your terrace each... More

What a pleasant surprise. In fact we have been there twice now and our looking forward to another visit this fall. It is very nice with excellent service from Erik Paula and their staff. The food in the restaurant was unbelievable. The lobster we had one evening was the best of any where in the world. The shrimp outstanding and the... More

Hotel La Joya (villaslajoya.com) is truly an island "jewel". Perched on the side of a hill overlooking the Caribbean Sea on the Cancun side of the island, it is a calming retreat, away (but not too far since the island is quite small) from the hustle and bustle of (El Centro) the town center. This is our third stay at... More

I needed a few days alone before I joined family in Mexico City. I so enjoyed this hotel, so much so, that the Mexico city trip will become an every year trip and Isla la Mujeres will be added onto the front end of the trip. I therefore am already looking into my 2nd stay for this upcoming December. I... More
