I found this hotel to be very conveniently located for what we wanted to do - walk to the beach (2-10 minutes depending on where you want to go) , shop and eat (1 minute), etc. It is not a beach front resort (which are $150US/night and up from there), but it is very clean, safe and most of all,... Our room at the Frances Arlene was alright, except for the toilet that didn't want to flush. I told the font desk; they said it was fixed, but it wasn't any better. Location is so-so. Two LOUD nightclubs in the area forced us to sleep with windows closed and earplugs. We departed two days early so we could get some... More

Hotel is located one block away from the main Hidalgo street and 5min walk from the city's beach Playa Norte. Front desk people Daisy and Elizabeth are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic, clean and comfortable. It is located on a quiet street with many places to eat. Wi-fi is slow sometimes. This is a perfect place for a... More

Positives, nice big bed, powerful fan (didn't need air con), good location, nice cleaner. Negatives, sheets stained and towels stained - would at least expect clean linen. Reception staff hardly speak. Probably wouldn't stay again.

Great hotel. Rooms in the front are beautiful. Hotel is only a block from the downtown action but away from the noise, very peaceful. I stayed for one night because of the cost but it's not really expensive for what you get. Very well decorated, clean, plenty of hotel water. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay here. The Francis Arlene is in the perfect location. Just around the corner from the Malecon for my morning walks to watch the sunrise and collect sea glass as well as being one street over from Hidalgo where the main restaurants are. Our room was great with a balcony that had a view of the ocean... More

I loved this hotel, it has so much detail everywhere. The inside garden is beautiful, and the rooms are decorated very cute and with great care. It felt a bit like staying with my grandparents, where everything is perfectly decorated, a flower cloth on every table, a picture on every wall, and everything spotlessly clean. Fan, fridge, a/c, it all... More

Stayed here for almost two weeks!!! Moved three different rooms to due our party size growing and shrinking each room was great. ac, frig, fan, I would definitely stay here again. Its very quaint and fits in with the area very well. Not like a large commercial hotel. staff is very friendly and laid back.

We just came back from a trip from Isla Mujeres where we stayed at the Francis Arlene Hotel. Our room was in the back overlooking the quiet courtyard. It was spotlessly clean, very quiet with a private balcony and a quiet air conditioner. There was always purified water in the courtyard for drinking, also a refrigerator in the room to... More

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. We stayed in a ground level room, with a "balcony" looking out to a parking lot, but a nice view of the courtyard (with mozzies). It is very close to the free to use water dispenser. The room itself is dated, but it has a cold fridge, microwave, a coffee maker, cutlery, plates... More
