We stayed in room # 21 for a week in March and had a mixed experience. On first impression it's a bright, fabulous room with a huge comfy bed. We had a decent sized closet with a small safe and french doors leading to a small private balcony. We had another set of french doors that lead to the common... more

My husband and I wanted to spend New Years in Isla Mujeres. We had went in April 2008, and stayed in a very nice place, but after going downtown during our trip, I really wanted to stay there the next time we visited. Well, 8 months later, December 30 we booked our stay at the Hotel Belmar in the main... more

If you have any intention of ever gettting any sleep in your room, pick another hotel. the restaurant downstairs closes at 11pm, but the staff have zero regard for the comfort of the hotel guests. When i repeatedly asked them to be more quiet after the restaurant was closed, well, the next day they suggested that i go to another... more

Belmar is such a nice place to stay. We went there in november without any knowledge of mexico and yucatan. It was such a nice place to relax and enjoy the first days in mexico. Very nice staff, great pizzas at rolandis, large and clean rooms in a comfortable ambiente. Typical mexican. I loved it there and would definately come... more

We turned up here without a booking after a one night stay in the very mediocre Francis Arlene Hotel. We were astonished to find out that the nightly rate was only $38 for a beautiful room with perfect airconditioning, flatscreen tv, the comfiest bed I have slept on in Mexico (trust me they are very hard) I pillow like a... more

.....What a great location on this get-a-way island. This was our third trip to Isla and our third stay at Hotel Belmar. You will never beat the price anywhere. Beautiful street setting at night with numerous restaurants and shops on the same street. Very friendly people everywhere you go.Our room is the same one each visit (#25) and very adequate.... more

We arrived on Isla not sure where to stay - took a taxi from the ferry dock to one hotel - while asking about rooms, price, etc we were told about The Belmar by another traveller. Good value ($57 a night) rooms good size, beds pretty comfortable and clean. Showers - not too much pressure, but OK. Staff really friendly... more

My wife and I recently returned from our 2nd trip to Isla Mujeres. This time, we stayed at the Belmar for 3 nights (previously, we stayed at the Bucaneros Hotel, right across the street, but it was fully booked this time, so we chose Belmar instead). Before getting to Belmar's dishonesty, I'll first briefly discuss the room. Having stayed at... more

I walked here after staying the first nignt somewhere else (Rocamar), Rocamar was good buy my roommate had issues with the noise from the waves. The Belmar room (suite) was large, a jacuzzi on the balcony, large bathroom, king bed and cable TV. Front desk service was not that friendly but they tried. Room cleaners were good. They say they... more

We arrived on Isla on kind of a whim, so we were thrilled when Belmar staff went out of their way to accomodate us even though we didn't have reservations. The room was perfectly basic and clean for the three nights we stayed, and the price was phenomenally cheap. Location is fabuloulsy right in the middle of town, while still... more
