The resort's website says: There's a private dock. There isn't There's a dive shop on site. There isn't. There's a game room. There isn't. There's a restaurant. It's closed. There's a volleyball area. There isn't. There are palapas. There aren't any. The master bedroom has a double bed, two nightstands and two lamps. To go to second bedroom and bath,... More

We were so disgusted, we forfeited our $100 deposit and went elsewhere. The hotel is incredibly run down (picture chairs and sofas in the rooms that were so frayed that you could see the floor through what used to be the seat of the chair or sofa). Everything about the hotel was just awful. We considered it worth the $100... More

I'm from London. I've been all over the world. This place is the worst place I've ever stayed. Think mouldy Bates Motel. The place is run down and nothing like the photos you may have seen. The rooms (we saw 3 after trying to find a better one) are tatty and dirty. We stayed because we were exhausted otherwise we... More

We went with a group of 10 adults and 5 kids and it worked great staying at CristalMar. We already have rooms booked for 2008, 5 rooms so far and other friends are asking about adding on all the time. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly, it is NOT Cancun, if you are looking for hotels with 1000's... More

I'll admit, at first, we were unsure of the place. It was a little isolated (a 7-10 min taxi ride from the ferry dock - 50 pesos) and the rooms lacked the modern luxuries and decor expected in a tourist trap like the Mexican Carribean (no telephones). However, after 1 night at the place, we never wanted to leave. If... More

We booked this week stay via Interval Int'l as a Mini Vacation as we are Time Share owners and wanted to return to Cancun (Isla Mujeres) after visiting the island in Feb. The price was quite low for a 2 bedroom apt.& I immediately was very sceptical of the accommodations even before the arrival. After little sleep, flight and finally... More

I didn't stay at the cristalmar but at a GREAT place down the beach without out a resturant went to the cristalmar for drinks and dinner several times and each time it was worse The staff is rude, the food is barely OK. Expect to wait 15- to - 20 minutes for a waiter to ask for your order. Don't... More

I stayed here last year with my family and I am planning to return this february again. It's not a fancy hotel but it is quiet clean and everyone that works there has a wonderful attitude. There are alot of stray animals in Mexico in general so you do see stray cats and dogs but they are all quite friendly... More

Run, don't walk away from the Cristalmar. It is the most disgusting place that I have ever vacationed. The photos on the Web are 20 years old and the place is a nightmare. There is no game room, scuba center, private beach, boatdock, etc. The rooms are not fit for the homeless. The restaurant is outdoors and extremely hot. On... More
