I loved Posada del Mar! It will now be my home away from home! The staff was amazing. Romy the bartender is my new bff! He remembered me everyday and knew exactly what I wanted to drink without asking. A huge group of us were there for a wedding. (We had about 95% of the hotel) Everyone had the best... more

My new wife and I took our honeymoon trip to Isla Mujeres and stayed at the Posada del Mar. It was our first trip to the island and we loved every minute of it! The hotel was in a perfect location and central to the pulse of the island. While it was far from fancy, it was always clean, the... more

On Thurs, 5/07/09, my daughter and I (frequent visitors) and 3 friends (new to Isla) fly to Isla amid a waning swine flu scare. At the Cancun airport, a gloved and masked doctor type took our temp. Kind of reassuring. Private taxi to Puerto Juarez cost us $20 each plus tip. Took the ferry from Gran Puerto to Isla, the... more

Just returned from 2 nights in Isla at Posada Del Mar and 7 nights in Cozumel. We LOVED Isla Mujeres!!! Rented golf carts for a day, snorkeled and ate some great food. The hotel itself has a great location and even with all the construction going on, it really did not bother us very much. The rooms are fine, the... more

The location is great, I'll say that much for it.However, the hotel is pastdue due for updates, but it appears that putting money into the hotel is not ontheir list of priorities. There is now some construction of a new back section to replace the section that was damaged be hurricane. So to rehab the rear facing portion of the... more

1st problem with our room was the key could not lock the door as the lock was damaged. Then, they semi fixed it (I could only lock it from the inside) and the water was completely cut off. No shower, no ability to flush the toilet, no tap water. We were moved to another room and after the water returned... more

Our family of 5 plus a friend stayed at the Posada del Mar for 2 weeks in May/08 and loved it. It was our first time to Isla Mujeres but we are going again in May/09. We are not staying at the Posada this time but probably will again in the future. Pros: The rooms were very large as was... more

NOISE !!! Locals are partying ALL and EVERY NIGHT across from hotel on the street with very loud music, boozing and "singing". EVERY NIGHT !!! Nothing that can be done. Staff is helpless, police too. Rooms on the back of the building are too hot and have no view, front has an open ocean view, cooler, but no sleep at... more

Awful place! The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, telling me they had no record of my reservation through Travel-Center.com, who never send me a confirmation email, so I am mad at them also. Anyway, this place was surrounded on three sides by construction, I stayed in Nov 2008. It is also overpriced for what you get. Never again. more

We love Posada Del Mar and have stayed there every year since 2006 and will continue to do so. The location is awesome especially for the price. The public beach directly across from the hotel. Also the attached resturant, Pinguinos, is great! We always stay in the "old" part of the building b/c the views from it look at the... more
