The descriptions in the other reviews pretty much cover the details, so I won't repeat. You do need to rent a car or scooter to enjoy your stay here on the east side of the island. Staff is very friendly - talking with them is great practice for your Spanish. Room was spotlessly clean every day and the breakfasts were... more

This was a great hotel for ocean lovers who want to feel secluded. The hotel is right off of the ocean and you can hear the crash of your waves. My reaction was that I couldn't stop smiling, I loved it here. :) The rooms were large and clean and we enjoyed our balcony. The staff was friendly but some... more

This place is remote. The view is nothing less than outstanding! The staff is delightful and accommodating. Having said that. Remote, there isn't much for lights and the cops will stop you along the road heading back after dark should you have been in town. I can only assess that they are checking up on the drug trafficking. So I... more

We were on a cruise in July 08,and Cozumel was one of the ports of call. My wife and I rented a scooter and rode around the island.Once we were out of San Miguel and seen the beautiful coastline,we knew that this place was special. The unspoiled beaches were breathtaking!!We stopped at Ventanas ,and took a picture of the sign(to... more

Another guest, who was actually a local, said it best, "it's the place to get away from the busy west side." My wife and I absolutely loved staying at Ventanas al Mar. Being the only hotel on the east side of the island, you will enjoy the most peaceful and relaxing experience in Cozumel. Our room was pristine and a... more

We had driven by Ventanas al Mar many times on previous trips and many times we promised ourselves that we would stay there next trip, and we finally did. We'd only booked two nights there because this was a trip for our tenth anniversary and we had booked a penthouse suite in a hotel in San Miguel for the remainder... more

We stayed at Ventanas del Mar for 4 nights in April 2007. It was by far the highlight of our trip, and we plan on returning to stay again. Although Cozumel is such a huge vacation spot for cruise ships, you would never know when you are at Ventanas. It is located on the sparse east side of the island... more

Just returned from Cozumel. This was our first visit so it was hard to gauge the damage from Wilma. Ventanas came through well, being on the east side. Seems the brunt of the damage was on the west side of the island, Ventanas lost it's beach palapas, which they hadn't replaced. We loved our room, airy, clean, and comfortable, but... more

We've just returned from a week at Ventanas al Mar. The staff is the most welcoming we've ever encountered. Breakfast was delicious every morning. The waves crash right at your door and the beach is deserted. What more do you need? V.a.M. is on the unpopulated side of Cozumel and is the only hotel over there. It is drastically different... more

We just got back from 5 nights at Ventanas al Mar and we love this place! Crashing waves day and night, amazing sunrises, total seclusion from the "busy life" and a caring, attentive staff. We arrived late, after dark, on our first night and were greeted by Coco, who acts as overnight innkeeper, handy man, all around helpful guy. He... more
