Greg and Sylvia were welcoming and accomodating from the outset. They are a mine of information and if you ever need entertaining a chat with either of them will end up either educating you or making you laugh. The location of the B&B is awesome - a short walk to the Ego gym and La Cuisine as well as only... More

Los AlcaTraces is a terrific location to experience the local culture without being surrounded by tourists. Greg and Silvia were extraordinary hosts ~ providing the perfect amount of insight about Cozumel. Sitting among the birds while listening to the local sounds made an excellent backdrop for the daily breakfast of local pasteries, fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The room was... More

Stayed with Greg and Silvia for 3 nights. Had a fantastic experience! They made me feel very welcome and at home 1. Location: 5-10 minute walk from the center of the town. 2 mins to the tourist strips. But secluded enough that you felt like a local living in town! 2. Rooms: I had a nice large room in the... More

What a nice cozy place to stay and within walking distance of some great taquerias, a bank that doesn't rip you off, a grocery store (mega) and other local restaurants (LE chef is awesome) Thanks for a wonderful stay. Andrea and I will be back.

We had such a great welcome by Silvia, Greg and little Rosa. Loved the room and the private patio/veranda space. It was so conveniently located for exploring the island and easy to access. We rented a car and went to the beaches, downtown, snorkeling, and local shopping. Met wonderful people staying in the adjacent room, but it was so private... More

We just left the wonderful island of Cozumel on Monday and are already thinking of a return. Silvia, Greg and Rosa are wonderful hosts! The room is spacious, airy, clean and inviting. The daily breakfast was substantial with a good serving of fresh fruit and large portion of muffin/bread. The pool was large enough for a refreshing dip after a... More

Los Alcatraces is a gem in a sea of places to stay. Part of the community, good location, they offer a covered patio and enclosed courtyard including Palm trees in small garden area, plus sun space by a small pool. We liked to explore out in the morning and come back there during the after lunch mid day heat, cool... More

The walk to the centre of town is only about 15 minutes. This is a great thing as you are just the right distance from the bustle of down town. The room is quiet, clean and and just the right size. Even very late at night walking back to the room in the dim lights of street lights we felt... More

You don't need to check out anywhere else. Clean, comfortable, and good food. Greg and Silvia are excellent, helpful hosts, and the suite is a perfect home base to explore the city and island from. When we travel to Cozumel next, we won't even bother looking anywhere else.

This was my second time back to Cozumel. I enjoyed my stay at Los Alcatraces and will vacation there again. Wonderful, helpful owners, simple yet perfect breakfasts, close location to everything. The back court yard area is very peaceful and tropical....complete with pool and chairs and a clothes line...plus their pet turtle Timothy.
