We expected a rustic place, and found Amaranto to be delightful. Discussing the design with architect/owner/host Jorge was enjoyable. Authentic Mexican sinks and lamps, hammocks and palapa roof were perfect. Manuela keeps everything clean and comfortable. The extra $6 for a full breakfast is well worth it, but is optional because so many divers leave very early. What fun to... More

We enjoyed Amaranto bed & breakfast. Room was unique and huge. Great deal for the price, great location. Quiet and surrounded by local shops. Jorge gave us good insight into things to do while in Cozumel. Very safe street and our room was also cleaned daily.

Just a few blocks from the waterfront, close enough for easy access and far enough to be removed from the high traffic tourist areas. Very unique rooms, lots of space, good beds, good amenities, good breakfast, great wifi. Great restaurants nearby and the Amaranto owner provides excellent recommendations on dining, diving, rentals, etc. Even though we were there at the... More

The property is beautiful and authentic Mexican, but you must know going into this hotel what you are getting. It's not a 5 star bed and breakfast and you will not get room service. I never saw the owner and only saw the house keeper one time. She did not speak any English at all so it was hard trying... More

We stayed for 6 nights in the 'Penthouse' top floor room you can see in the photos. The room is simple in terms of facilities (fridge, microwave, bathroom and beds, enough plates and cutlery to do a bit of simple breakfast etc), but unique in terms of a room to stay in. It has a crows nest type platform in... More

If you want a nice, quaint B&B that is a short walk from the center of Cozumel, this is the place to stay. The bungalows are cute and just the right size providing all of the right necessities. The staff couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. They provided us with a list of recommendations for restaurants, diving and snorkeling locations... More

I wanted to wait a bit of time before reviewing this location, if I reviewed it the 1st night I would have given it a 1 star at most as I went to bed in a cave ready to cry. Maybe we got the one bad bungalow in the place I don't know because I didn't see any others but... More

I selected this place because it looked quaint and the reviews were so good. I much prefer to stay in something like this vs an american style hotel. Unfortunately our experience didn't measure up. We arrived and immediately wanted to move to another place (but didn't). The bungalow was cute, but was hot and stuffy, which is understandable as there... More

Have stayed at Amaranto several times and it always feels like my home away from home. Jorge and Manuela are wonderful, make sure that they take care of everything you need and greet you with smiles. The rooms are spacious, fridges in every room and a short walk to the Main Street for shopping and restaurants. Can't wait to go... More

Nice place to stay. Quiet and cozy. Breakfast is not included. Service is good. Wifi only in the Lobby. Beware of Mosquitos. The owner is really nice and friendly. All to all - a good experience. Really safe.
