We hadn't planned on going to Cozumel, but on a whim took our car on a ferry near Playa del Carmen and spent one night there. We first stopped at Caribe Blu Hotel, which was right on the water and looked very nice, but they didn't have any available rooms (we think the lady at the front desk couldn't be... More

At first we were incredibly surprised to find that our hotel was NOT located on the beach. We booked through Expedia and sort of felt a little mislead. HOWEVER, upon seeing and hearing about what Hurricane Wilma has done to the island, we were not at all disappointed with our decision to stay at the Villablanca. Both my boyfriend and... More

We returned to VB for two weeks in April, and although we were a saddened to see the damage done to Cozumel by Wilma, we found the hotel doing the best they can for the guests. The beach is mostly gone, and the palapas with it. But there is access to the water, and the fish are still out there.... More

We stayed here for the second time. This time for 10 days. It not fancy but a good value. Emo the owner was very nice to us and the general atmosphere is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable and the grocery store & town only a mile away. We snokeled across the street from the hotel every day. What beautiful... More

Pros-Cheap This is a cheap hotel and the breakfast is far from being good. The continental breakfast is a few slices of toast and juice or coffee anything else and it is extra. They will not let you take your drinks to the pool and the bar is outside a few feet from it.. The owners and the owners children... More

We stayed at the hotel just this weekend and had an ok time. The food is very pricey the cheapest item on the dinner menu is about $13.00. The manager of the hotel had a bad attitude throughout our stay. He would not let us take our drinks by the pool or hot tub, had to stay at the bar... More

In response to "2nd Stay & Keep This Secret", cheers to our fellow VB fans! As for "Itchy", keep the negative vibe, we fans will keep VB our secret "paradise". In May 2004, my husband & I had our first stay at the Villablanca as well as 2 other hotels in Q Roo locations & the Villablanca was our favorite... More

Second stay at right-sized smallish, older, classic architectured landscaped Villablanca. Hub & I brought our teen boys for two weeks at VB for much-needed, long-saved-for vacay from cold rainy Portland. No place is perfect for all, so VB should be avoided by hard-partying loud "Hey Pedro, gimmie another brewski NOW!" tequila swilling Americans disrespectful of Mexican/Caribbean culture, people & reef... I am almost afraid to write this as I fear my secret hideaway will be discovered, but I felt it necessary to counter balance the review entititled "I'm so Itchy". While that may have been that traveller's experience, it most definately was not ours. My sister and I live on opposite ends of the country (I'm in Boston, she's in... More
