My dive shop just returned from a Sunday to Sunday stay at the Barracuda. This is an absolutely fab location. There is a grocery/sundry store across the street (less the 50 yards) that opens at 7 am and closes at 10 pm daily. You can buy almost anything there. They have a coffee shop, deli, pizza shop and sell just... more

We stayed at the Barracuda Feb 6-10, 2009 and had a good time. The Hotel is a Basic place with clean rooms, comfortable beds (for Mexico) and old school charm. We traveled with 14 others from our local dive shop and the hotel was chosen for affordability and it's on site dive shop affiliation and packages with Paradise Divers. We... more

Maybe I am just easy going; maybe I am not prissy; maybe I am easy to please; and maybe I don't expect too much? But, this was my second stay at the Barracuda and everything was just fine (again). The 3rd floor room was great and had a great view. The place is really clean. They new towels (but housekeeping... more

OK, we check in on a Tuesday. At first glance, it is for all intent and purposes just as people described. A bare bones Dive hotel in a great location. The rooms are basic. Double bed, Small fridge, TV. First, we locked our keys in the room (as hotel guset due all over the world) and they didn't have a... more

I was in cozumel from 8/30 thru 9/7/2008. I picked Baracuda because when we booked our dives with Paradise Dive(excellent dive shop) they offered a package deal to stay next door at the Baracuda. The next morning I reported that I had low or no water presure on the cold water side. THe lady down stairs said they would check... more

The Barracuda..I know where it gets its name: the middle aged woman at the front desk is a barracuda. She was very rude, probably because she is in the wrong industry for her personality. They suggest you leave your valuables in their safe deposit box at the front desk, but when you do they charge you to use it! Not... more

The Barracuda has a very lazy woman with a bad a$$ attitude working at the front desk. This person is so lazy and so anti-hospitable she won't even call you a cab because "you can just walk down the sidewalk and find one yourself"...nevermind your trying to check out and have a 50 lb. bag your toting as long as... more

As a mid-50’s couple used to all-inclusive, pampering dive resorts and condo’s, (and after studying Trip Advisor reviews) knowingly we decided to accompany a “value-driven” dive group that had been to the Barracuda before and they liked it’s base accommodations and party environment. Be prepared for no amenities. If you are above the first floor you get a small balcony... more

I loved my stay at the Barracuda: good price, great food at the bar, nice ambiance, the beautiful and friendly women bartenders in "the no name bar", and great owners, nice and clean pool area. I felt like I was part of the family. Sure the cruise ship staff shows up when they are in port., but if that annoys... more
