I have been staying at the El Cozumeleno for almost 20 years and have slowly watched one of the islands prominent hotels slowly erode into a tired hotel. What keeps me coming back is the wonderful staff they have been able to keep and there isn't anything that they won't do to make sure you are comfortable and happy. Unfortunately... More

We stayed at the resort from Jan. 15th to 21st. We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts in Mexico and I must say this was the cleanest one we have been to. The people at the resort where excellent. They were constantly asking if they could get us something or cleaning the resort. The snorkeling was excellent right in... More

I have been to this resort three times. First time was in the month of June of 2006. The mosquito's were lined up waiting for me. Second time was during the month of May 2009. Bugs were not so bad. Third time was during the month of October 2010. This was maintenance time. The pools were being drained one at... More

The hotel is fine. Yes the rooms are dated and old and the beds are hard despite two worn out egg shell matresses. The doors are secure, but one kick and I'm sure you could bust in. Never felt like I had to worry about my safety. The beach is great, hard to enter because of the coral, but not... More

Went in May 2011 and back in December 2011! If you want to go to the most beautiful place you've ever seen for a way more affordable price than elsewhere in the Caribbean, go to Cozumel. If you're going to Mexico, esp if you live on the east coast, I wouldn't bother staying anywhere except Cozumel. It is an island... More

The location, lovely grounds and excellent staff are the pluses. All rooms are beachfront with balconies. Facility inside and out is kept very clean. Our rooms in the older section were dated when we stayed here 13 years ago and nothing much had been done to update them. They miss many of the amenities found in most all inclusives (coffee... More

WE are a family of 4 who travelled to this resort from Jan 13-20th, 2012. Our daughters are 11 and 13 - the 11 year old being a VERY fussy eater. I would like to begin this review by saying anyone who didn't like the food at this resort has a serious issue. The a la carte restaurant, La Veranda,... More

First off, the staff has nothing to do with this review as they were great. We booked this and should have known better with some of the reviews on here. They give you actual keys for your room and safe which I immediately found odd. $100 if you lose one, BTW. The non security of having no deadbolt or chain... More

I booked a senior rates deluxe room and got a room on the quiet side of the resort overlooking the pools and sea. The room has a compact veranda that sits two people comfortably. The room (number 414) was enormous but sparsely furnished. A king size bed, a large sofa bed and a small table with two chairs were the functional... More
