I'll go ahead and reiterate what most posters have already said-although the food may sometimes be mildly less than spectacular, the staff and service will blow you away. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon Sept 14-20. We really enjoyed our stay overall. Very clean resort, top notch customer service, and plenty of activities to keep busy. I only gave this hotel an average because I'd really like to see them stay in business. This was probably the worst food I have ever eaten in public. This was my 5th time back to Cozumel, my first time at ElCoz - and this is my favorite place to date! I visited with 5 other friends and we all had a great time. My husband and I stayed at the El Cozumeleno in September for 7 nights. We had a wonderful time. We went during the slow season so keep that in mind when reading this review.
