El Cozumeleno was a beautiful resort right on the beach and had great snorkeling right on-site. Perfect for a family and we loved the all-inclusive option. Great food and drinks daily with homemade guacamole and salsa! Our kids, ages 9 and 11, kept busy with several activities offered daily and nightly. This was our fourth trip to Cozumel and our fourth stay at El Cozumeleno. Yes, the beds were hard. Yes, the food variety was limited and the service was slow. This resort is amazing. The beach is great and the snorkeling was fabulous! The staff was helpful for the most part ... but I think that "no tips allowed" theory is phony. This was our 6th trip to Cozumel. We have stayed at a couple other hotels, but usually we pick the El Cozumeleno. The hotel is spotless. The staff works non-stop to make sure every thing is perfect. Me and my girlfriend had a great time at the pool and quickly realized what $1 can get you at the bar.
