Great hotel that is perfect to visit the archeological site as it has a direct access to it. But the hotel itself is worth a visit. The bungalow-style rooms are placed inside a huge park with high palms where you can find also many swimming pools. Restaurants inside the hotel are very good as well. Recommended.

For the adventurous folks looking to get off the beaten path, but not willing to compromise on safety and beauty, this is the place to be. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, easy access to the ruins. The rooms are nice, but be mindful that you are in the middle of the jungle with thatch roofs! Embrace the time outside of your... More

We stayed with our twin 8-year-olds for the first time in January. We stayed for 3 days and wished we'd spent the entire time there. The lodge we stayed in was next to one of the 3 pools. It was rustic yet had all the comfort and luxury. The beds were comfortable and provided mosquito netting for night time comfort.... More

Our family of 6 stayed one night in January in two Royal Mayan Bungalows. The rooms were pleasant and located in peaceful surrounds. The restaurant was also set in the grounds and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Most enjoyable eating breakfast in the gardens with peacocks wandering around. The very best thing about this lodge is it's location... More

I have just read over the bad reviews for this hotel, and yet I am still going to give it a glowing review. I just want to point out that, everywhere we stayed in Cancun, we got bitten by mosquitos. It is unavoidable. We also stayed at a lovely vacation rental and had a great time, but my room was... More

Thanks for staying at our resort and for your wonderful, objective comments. As a matter of fact, of the world's rain and tropical forests, few places on earth have as small a mosquito population as Chichen Itza, and the reason is simple: We have more birds and iguanas in and around our property than any other region in North America.... Stayed at The Lodge (Mayaland) at Chichen Itza for 3 nights early May as part of the 8 day Yucatan tour booked through Thomson. The hotel is set next to Chichen Itza and is absolutely wonderful, so different from our usual package hotels. Set in a forest with lots of wildlife around. The rooms are large and well air conditioned,... More

We ended up staying here for a night to see the sites. All of us would loved to have been here for longer - just a heavenly spot, and the bungalow rooms are a dream. The best part was being able to walk out of our rooms, dip into a pool, wave at a peacock, and keep walking onto the... More

The stay here was necessary just so we could be at Chichen Itza first thing in the morning, but this property needs a lot of TLC. When we arrived on the first afternoon, we decided to spend some time at the pool as it was a hot day. The first pool we went to was both dirty and had broken... More

Beautiful grounds, location, great service (except once at dinner with a few lazy young guys - was appalling) but at breakfast and the buggies - perfect We booked this as it was number one in Chichen Itza - I dread to think what number six is. The room is NOT airtight against the bugs and flora and fauna of the... More

We are all sorry you did not enjoyed your experience in our bungalows. We do organic fumigation (a much more expensive alternative to traditional chemicals), to protect the birds, iguanas and wildlife of our environment, and exquisite, much applauded and celebrated experience you obviously do not care for. We offer beautiful rooms and suites in our main building, one that... More
