The main pull of this hotel was the proximity to Chichen Itza. Because of this we only stayed the one night but it was great. Our room was big and beautifully decorated with a lovely large en suite and balcony looking out to the gardens and terrace. We didn't eat in the main restaurant but got nachos and tostadas from... We stayed here for one night as part of a tour of Mexico. Had a room with a fabulous view of ruins - sunset was unbelievable! Evening meal sitting on terrace outside restaurant was delicious. Service was great. Pool was quiet in the afternoon and a lovely way to escape the 40+ degree heat. Went back into the ruins later... More

The location is superb not only for the Mayan ruins, but the tropical atmosphere. The hotel, itself, is a lot less great. It gives the impression of a hotel that was once very nice but has become a bit rundown. The lobby is worn and outdated, as are the rooms. There is no phone or elevator. The high point of... More

I responded to your wonderful review on our Hacienda Uxmal just last night, and am sad to read your evaluation of the Mayaland. My apologies for the lack of service you experienced; there is absolutely no excuse for that. As per the rooms and facilities, we have been quietly undertaking a total remodeling of the south building, where you stayed.... More

This is a great hotel and the location cannot be beat. When you walk into the lobby, you just have to turn around and you get a great view of the Observatory. The rooms were large and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was made to order and delicious and we were able to order a sandwich to go... More

Location trumps plastic. This is a nice place...if you like staying in the U.S. The furnishings, including beds, are a little tired. The grounds are pretty, and you walk out the back door to go to the parque. Just know in advance: You're there for the ruins and not the hotel.

We all do try very hard. It is a shame that in your case our efforts are ridiculed at the expense of your beautiful country, one were most people are appreciative of the efforts others make to serve them. More

This is a really nice colonial building. Definitely spend time going around. There is a small waterfall and turtles near-by. Buffet is good and lots of options 169MXN and if you're staying in the hotel, you get 20% off. So make sure you mention that. Book the Light show well in advance. It gets booked out quickly. Light show is... More

Big room and big bathroom, excellent à la carte breakfast and the (back) entrance to Chichen Itza is IN the hotel garden, what could you want more? Beautiful huge tree in the front garden, and a very big nice garden.

We wanted to attend the new Light and Sound show at Chichen, so the best option was to spend the night. It was wonderful! The property is beautiful and very comfortable. Our room had a balcony overseeing the beautiful garden, which we enjoyed very much. Very relaxing experience. The staff is very friendly regardless if you are a national or... More

We stayed here for one night to see Chichen on our way from Merida to Puerto Morelos. We were in one of the bungalows. Pros: - The place is gorgeous, very lush and peaceful. You constantly hear birds and other nature sounds. We were a little worried about the mosquitoes but they weren't bad (we were told it varies with... More

Thanks for your visit. We consider our Mayaland Hotel pricing to be among the World's BEST BARGAINS in hotel accommodations due to our ambiance, jungle setting and a unique, one to a world location alongside one of the wonders of the world. Taxi service has nothing to do with ours or any hotel in Mexico. Taxis are independent, usually locally... More

We stayed here March 2014 in the hotel for 2 nights. I loved every second we stayed here. Welcome drinks on arrival was a nice touch and the wood work in the rooms is incredible but the show stoppers are the surroundings and proximity to the ruins. There is an entrance to park from the hotel. Some rooms have a... More
