Just got back from Yucatan last night. We stayed at the Hotel mayaland. Let me tell you it exceeded my expectations. This place is magical, beautiful views, food ...delicious. ceviche the best!. Room and bungalows very clean. It only took about 5 minutes to walk to the ruins . Staff was very professional and so friendly. Thank you Miguel and... More

Mayaland is a good location to get into Chichen Itza. It's easy enough to get into the ruins first thing in the morning before all the tourist buses get in. It also helps that most of the traders are still setting up at 8am so you don't get bugged as much. He staff is really friendly. Drinks and food slightly... More

Thank you for your visit! I am surprised to read your good comment and the poor grade on your review. Perhaps the cost of the drinks made you decide on the mediocre rating. Please tell me... where in the world do you pay about 4 dollars for a premium margarita? Not even in Tequila, Jalisco! No, I don't believe your... More

This hotel is wonderful and unique. I had the strange sensation of living in a place where the time has stopped. Staff is very nice, the food exquisite. I had the chance to stay in an extraordinary suite with a view on the magnificent gardens. Nature, nature and nature...I will never forget my stay in this idyllic place. The entry... More

The location, grounds and staff make this resort a wonderful experience. It can be a challenge to get to however. We opted for a private driver from the Cancun Airport rather than bus since we had limited time. The driver worked out well but was very expensive (roundtrip $500). Hindsight being 20/20 we would have rented a car since the... More

Thanks for your visit and your objective comments! Next time you visit our area, give us a call. We have a toll free line from the USA & Canada. We'll provide you with a Mercedes Benz transfer for less than half of what you paid for a taxi. As you suggest, renting a car is another very good option. It... More

We stopped in the bungalows and enjoyed the whole experience. Faultless staff. Excellent food. Take time to walk the grounds as this will enhance your Mayaland experience. Short distance from the mayan ruins at Chichen Itza.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. It is right next to Chichen Itza and has a private entrance. You can go in early and beat the crowds. You can also return later in the day if you have the time. The exterior of the hotel and grounds are beautiful! You can eat on the patio which overlooks the wonderful gardens.Our... More

I loved Mayaland but can see how some would complain that it is dated or needs freshening up. It is what I would expect at a grand old hotel in a humid climate. Internet is available in the lobby - outlets are limited - it was built before every family member over 3 needed a smartphone and tablet. Staff was... More

Thanks your visit and for for pointing out why The Mayaland is the "Real Thing" ! Great review. It reminds intelligent visitors about the essence of the travel experience, so many a times lost in today's travel environment. Even though we are remodeling our rooms, making their bathrooms even larger, better lit naturally, and fitting them with additional hook ups... More

Before our arrival, we were concerned about whether three nights and two full days in Chichen Itza was too much; after settling into our beautiful room in the old part of the Mayaland Hotel, with a verandah looking out over the terrace towards the private entrance to the ruins, we wondered if we should stay longer. I love this place,... More

We stayed here over Spring Break 2014 and traveled with 6 & 9 year old boys. After traveling from Playa del Carmen we were pleasantly surprised...an oasis in the jungle. Boys loved that we could take a break during the heat of the day and swim/lunch. They also enjoyed the planetarium show as it prepared them for visiting Chichen Itza.... More

My two sons, ages 9 and 12, and I arrived at the Bungalows at Mayaland in a rental car on an early evening after a flight into Cancun from the US. The plan was to get up early, see the ruins when they opened at 8, and then move on to Uxmal. The room was spacious and very clean. All... More
