We arrived at the Hotel by car, without a reservation and where immediately attracted to the external gardens and driveway to the main hotel building. We had decided to stop in / around Chichen Itza, on the basis that it was a tourist ‘hot spot’ and hence hotels should be plentiful; there was however only 3 or 4 to choose... More

I don't think previously posted reviews have accurately reflected how incredibly beautiful this hotel and its grounds are. The out buildings are lovely, and the trees, pool, restaurant, and library just take your breath away. The whole place struck me as magical. Service was a bit stiff- a reflection, I think, of the fact that tour groups come through on... More

I followed the advice of other TA reviewers who recommended staying overnight at Chichen Itzá and am very glad we did. After staying in Mérida for a couple of nights, we did NOT want to leave Hacienda Chichen. It is very peaceful and quiet with only the sounds of the surrounding woods and the fountain can be heard. Dinner was... More

We've read mixed reviews about this wonderful hacienda. We found it to be the best in all aspects. The food was excellent. The hotel help was gentle and gracious. The hotel entrance to the Chichen site was a short walk and extremely accessible and less expensive than the main entrance to the site. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and... More

During our recent stay, 3 memebres of our family had their credit card numbers stolen and used in other Mexico cities. The numbers had to have been taken here as none of us had used the cards elsewhere in Mexico. We contacted the owner and she was not helpful at all in trying to get more information about the thefts.... More

We took a bus and then a cab and just walked in and booked a room at the Hacienda Chichen Resort. We wanted an adventure so we had no reservations. We let the chips fall where they might and we had a great time an a wonderful stay. We arrived at the bus station in Cancun with out reservations for... More

Delightful. The lovely grounds filled with flowers and birdsong were truly memorable. Pleasant pool. Restaurant was somewhat pricey but quite good; very attentive staff. Charming musicians in the evening. The very attentive manager, Arturo, made our stay particularly special. Spa services were also memorable. Beds were reasonably comfortable...but we do wish we'd been granted one of the cottages with outdoor... More

I just had a lovely time at the Hacienda Chichen. The hotel is within walking distance of the Chichen Itza archaeological zone (itself a must-see). The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The resort is a historic house- there is a sheet on the history in each room and a photo album in the library. Guest rooms are in cottages located... More

So quiet and peaceful. Beautifully maintained grounds and great pool. Lots of history here about the Hacienda itself, and the archeoligists who used this as their base of operations. Just a short walk to Chichen Itza. If you plan to have dinner here after the evening light show at the ruins, be sure to make reservations before you head out... More

This place is amazing. Located a 5-minute walk to the deserted South entrance to the Chichen Itza archeological site / tourist mecca. Formerly a Hacienda that later housed the archeologists excavating the site in the 1930s, this place exudes colonial elegance and charm. We stayed in Pollack's Suite (#8) and found it to be reasonably spacious and comfortable, and a... More
