We loved our one night stay at the Villas Arqueologicas. The location was perfect; we had no problem finding it after looking on google maps. After a long, leisurely day at Chichen Itza we looked forward to a cool, refreshing swim in the pool. The hibiscus tea given to us on check-in also helped. The architecture of the grounds and... We really enjoyed our two night stay at Villa Arqueologica Chichen Itza. The room was very nice, very clean, good beds, great bedding and towels, and opened to a beautiful courtyard with a restaurant and swimming pool. Plenty of hot water in our beautifully tiled shower. Daily housekeeping with fresh linens folded into fancy shapes accented fresh flowers. The common... More

We stayed 2 nights here and after a long drive enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurants. Due to it's location you can go in the back entrance to chichen itza, which is calmer and quieter with less tourists. Food was ok, good price, but nothing particularly outstanding, but typical mexican food which is what we liked.

We departed Playa Del Carmen in the morning, toured the ruins at Coba, had lunch in Valladolid, swam in the cenote at Ik-Kil and checked in at Villas Arqueologicas late afternoon. It was not difficult for us to find and is ideally located just a short walk from a pedestrian entrance to Chichen Itza, which we enjoyed touring first thing... More

We check in in the hotel villas arqueológicas walk to the room and fine out that the safe wasn't working came back to the lobby and by that time my sunglasses where missing. No one know where my sunglasses are. The bathroom was leaking all night long until I shut down the water from the toilet at 1:30 am. Other... More

My wife really wanted to see the Chichen Itza ruins, which are in the middle of nowhere. And being one of the "7 wonders of the world"...tourists galore. I opted to rent a car and stay nearby so we could get there right as the site opened, a few hours before tourist buses from Cancun/Play Del Carmen arrive. Once we... More

My wife and I didn't to sit in a multi-hour shuttle to get from Cancun to Chichen Itza so we decided to get a hotel in the area for a couple of nights. First things first: this hotel is difficult to find (more so at night). Once you are on the 180 heading toward Valladolid and pass the main entrance... More

Very nice accomodations. Had a restaurant and bar. The best thing is that they took credit cards as payment for the rooms - hard to find in the Yucatan! They arranged for a tour guide for the ruins, but I thought it was very pricey - 750 pesos ($49). I paid it but wouldn't do that again. I've read that... More

This is a good base for visiting Chichen Itza, and is only a short 10 minute walk from the rear entrance. However, if you are planning on seeing the Sound and Light show (which is probably why you are staying at Chichen Itza for the night, rather than doing a day tour) then you need to have your own vehicle... We stayed here Dec 22-24 as our base to visit Chichen Itza, which turned out to be a great choice. I would recommend this as opposed to taking a tour bus from Cancun, if you want to have time to explore the incredible ruins with sufficient time to wander where you will. By staying nearby, we got up early, had... More
