I picked this place because I wanted quick access to Chichen Itza first thing in the morning. Some things didn't become clear to me about the area until there, for example the back entrance is a public entrance just like the main north side and opens at the same time (credit cards accepted). Many tour buses use it during the... More

Four of us flew from England to Cancun, rented a car and drove to Chichen Itza the same evening, so we could be at the archeological site early the next morning. We arrived at dusk to this pretty little hotel where the staff welcomed us, booked us in and showed us to our rooms. The pool-side restaurant and bar was... More

We stayed here after a friend recommended it. It is one of a few hotels on the "back side" of the ruins so you can get an early start the next day. It is like having your own private entrance to the zoo. We started at 8 am sharp at the ruins. All was clean, service was good, staff was... More

A three star hotel with a little more to offer. The rooms are very basic and the beds are terrible! However the rooms are clean, air conditioned and the bathrooms functional. It gets a rating of 4 because of its great location, good food (simple and not overly expensive), they do an excellent margarita a and the courtyard and pool... More

The hotel is perfectly located to visit Chichen Itza early in the morning: the entrance to the site is literally around the corner. The hotel will also arrange an official guide who will meet you at the hotel, if you want, at no extra charge than the official rate for the licenced guides. The accommodations are cosy: they have two... More

I stayed at this hotel in early February. Very clean, good service, everything worked, clean rooms, good food at the restaurant, kind people. We had one of their suites, which is 2 rooms, one with a king and the other with a prepared (made up) sofa-bed. Large bathroom that is connected to both rooms. No tv, no coffee machine, but... More

We loved our one night stay at the Villas Arqueologicas. The location was perfect; we had no problem finding it after looking on google maps. After a long, leisurely day at Chichen Itza we looked forward to a cool, refreshing swim in the pool. The hibiscus tea given to us on check-in also helped. The architecture of the grounds and... We really enjoyed our two night stay at Villa Arqueologica Chichen Itza. The room was very nice, very clean, good beds, great bedding and towels, and opened to a beautiful courtyard with a restaurant and swimming pool. Plenty of hot water in our beautifully tiled shower. Daily housekeeping with fresh linens folded into fancy shapes accented fresh flowers. The common... More

We stayed 2 nights here and after a long drive enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurants. Due to it's location you can go in the back entrance to chichen itza, which is calmer and quieter with less tourists. Food was ok, good price, but nothing particularly outstanding, but typical mexican food which is what we liked.

We departed Playa Del Carmen in the morning, toured the ruins at Coba, had lunch in Valladolid, swam in the cenote at Ik-Kil and checked in at Villas Arqueologicas late afternoon. It was not difficult for us to find and is ideally located just a short walk from a pedestrian entrance to Chichen Itza, which we enjoyed touring first thing... More
