We missed our flight so we stayed here in downtown. The area isn't great but it's about $80-$100 US cheaper than the beach areas. It's clean and there's some good local food around. This wouldn't be my first choice, but it's a good spot if you just need a place to spend a night or two.
We got into cancun late and missed the ferry to Isla Mueres and our driver recommended us to stay there. So we did. For the price it's not bad.
