Let's be real here, there are definitely better hotels in Cancun than Sotavento. The location can be a bit frustrating to find, the wifi wasn't the best, breakfast was ok and it's far from the main drag. But if you're looking to save money in Cancun for cerveza and tequila then give it a shot. Rooms were big, the bed... More

I am giving this hotel a rating of 4 out of 5 based on price. Obviously it is not the same as staying at a 5 star all inclusive resort, but you shouldn't expect it to be. If you are an English only speaking American like me you need to be prepared for the fact that most employees speak no... More

Dear all. Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel one night before moving towards zona hoteliera but after whats happened after one hour of our stay put me in a really bad mood and upset us sooo much so we want to share our experience with you. Front desk staff one man in his maybe 50s came to us... More

I must say I was a little concerned when my cousin booked this room because of the recent reviews I read, but overall the place was not bad. Wifi is available but ONLY in the lobby, so if you MUST have wifi, this is not the place for you. We didn't have any issues with bugs in our room and... More

The woman at the front desk did not seem to happy to be there, was not very helpful. The guys were quite helpful and spoke better English. There is no refrigerator in the room, the TV had one channel and it was fuzzy. None of the buttons on the tv worked therefore we could not turn it off or change... More

This place is hidden and buried far past the resort hotels and all-inclusives along the coast that Cancun is known for; but if you are looking for a budget-friendly place tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of the commercial strip then this place is for you. It's peaceful, homey, with nice clean rooms and linens and comfortable grounds... More

If you dont mind wasting money and so, so service this is the place for you. The A/C is only in operation while in the room. You must insert a key to get the unit running and must remove the key when you leave. So after you return from the sweltering heat you must wait a while for the A/C... More

We were looking for a place to stay as we missed our flight. We found a deal online for this hotel and took it as there was not much time to evaluate. Good things: It is in the hotel zone so it has easy access to other attractions. Its low cost. Its on the lagoon. Bad things: Since its on... More

At first glance, the place looks like a whole in the wall, but the staff is very nice and are quick to cater to your needs. This is not a 5 star hotel... it doesn't have an exercise room, glorious views of the ocean, or expansive rooms with armoires and 40" flat screens, big parking areas, free shuttle to and... More

Compared to the rest of the hotels in Cancun this one is a bargain! Good location, nice gardens, free breakfast, pool and restaurant onsite. The only downside is it's not on a beach. If you're looking for a budget option this is definitely the way to go as there are no backpackers/hostels in the hotel zone.
