The Hotel is fairly priced and the location is rather good. Some may enjoy the decioration too. What's way below any acceptable standard are rooms and noise. Rooms furniture is old and dusty, bedsheets don't look exactly clean. It doesn't smell good either, unless one likes mildew. Airconditioning is old and clunky, that level of noise is simply unsuitable for... More

An Australian cousin had a medical conference in Cancun's hotel zone. I hate inauthentic resorts so booked here. Great front desk staff but cannot say if they speak English as I don't speak English in Mexico. Nice pool area but small. Faux Maya decor to amuse, amaze or appall. Clean, walking distance to restaurants and ADO bus station, quiet. Possibly... More

Firstly, this is not a resort or a spa. This is an amazingly-decorated, well-located hotel that mostly caters to Mexican tourists. If you don't want to be in a faceless hotel on the beach with white walls and garish bedding, this is the hotel for you. The rooms are basic- bathroom with toilet and shower (intermittent hot water), comfortable bed... More

In Cancun you have 2 options: - an all inclusive hotel where you are going to stay during your entire vacation with the beach nearby - or you want to discover Mexico by yourself and get a conveniently located hotel Xbalamque is in the 2nd category, it is not a fancy hotel but it has what you need: a bed... Stayed here for 1 week on vacay...the exterior of the hotel is gorgeous, but the manager is rude. We were not given the remote to turn on the room fan, the water in the shower was cold and we were assigned the wrong room... Plus: Walking distance to Market 23 to buy souvenirs (cheaper here!)

In downtown, a wonderful hotel, very well decorated, in maya style inside and outside. Moreover the rooms are comfortable and cheap...in Cancun. Inside the hotel you will find all commodities, restaurant, travel agency, and a very welcoming staff.

This hotel is very beautiful on the outside and all the way until you get to your room. It's very beautifully decorated with amazing Mayan murals and Spanish poems. The rooms: are very simple/plain. There is no dresser, only a concrete closet and a vanity. The beds are ok to sleep in, there are no blankets at all, just sheets.... More

This hotel is in reasonable proximity to the ADO bus station and perfectly adequate for our one night stay passing through, however not a neighborhood with much going on besides daily life. I would not consider this a resort or tourist destination. The building however is extremely beautiful and exudes a museum like quality. The Mayan architecture and decorations, Spanish... More

I was greeted with a smile even after I checked in at 5am after my flight from Australia was delayed for 24 hours. The hotel was full & still they kept my booking for me even though I showed up 1 day late. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, shower was hot. I absolutely loved my stay. Would... More

- money stolen from room first day - air conditioning so loud you can hear it from several rooms away and you can't sleep - maids come every morning and wake you up when you finally do get to sleep - bar staff would often tell us that they ran out of beer Do not stay here
