This is a hotel and therefore higher standards apply. That said this place is good. Close to the ADO-Station (10min walk), restaurants, shops and buses to the Zona Hoteleria. Room (incl. bathroom) was clean. Sheds are changed every day. Plenty and hot water in the shower. Air-Con is a bit noisy. Wifi is fast and stable. Especially in the lobby.... More

Lovely place the artwork was beautiful. The service was GREAT; however, the room was average and the AC worked but was loud (it was a window AC which only cooled that one room, not the bathroom or the vanity mirror area and it was HOT in Cancun. The TV was ancient and only one channel worked....not that we watched too... More

This is a novelty type hotel and is located in the old town in Cancun. The room wasn't great and smelled a little bit of damp, the shower was hot but rather than being a tiled area was concrete with stones set into it which really hurt your feet meaning you had to wear flip flops in the shower, it... If you're looking for a cheap place to crash for a few nights, you could do a lot worse. The staff, though some speak very little English, were very helpful and we got by with the Spanish we knew! They were all very friendly too which we didn't find with everyone in Cancun! The actual decor though perhaps dated is... More

My husband and I are from Canada and stayed at the hotel for three nights in may 2015. The hotel is lovely, authentic Mexico. The rooms are clean and spacious. The décor throughout is unlike that you will see in any other hotel. From the lobby you walk to the restaurant where you get a free breakfast every day. The... More

Stayed here for a week in downtown Cancun and thoroughly enjoyed the King Suite, maybe bathroom could be improved. Decor was typical Mayan as we were hoping for. Included breakfast was good if minimal. We visited in February so had to pick your time to get the sun at the lovely pool - the waterfall feature was great. The evening... More

The lobby and hotel decor is very deceiving. The rooms were terrible. The air conditioning was so loud and old. It barely worked. I was afraid to use the shower so I chose not to. I basically passed out and left the next morning. The area is not attractive at all. I'm shocked that anyone could possibly give this hotel... More

Initially they had misplaced our reservation, but were able to find it.The appearance of the outside of the hotel and it's lobby and hallway areas were really nice and had some very cool Mayan themed artwork. The room itself could use a little updating, but was still comfortable, clean, and fairly spacious. The pool area was pretty nice as well.... More

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for 3 nights and loved the Mayan theme. All the staff was very friendly and very helpful if you need information about the sites of downtown Cancun. The pool area was gorgeous very clean and well maintained. The restaurant has great food and very friendly. The hotel has a very rustic Mexican feel and... More

We stayed at Xbalamque for 5 nights. When we made our bookings I was worried it might be a little gimmicky, what with the slightly over-the-top Mayan theme, but it was actually an extremely beautiful hotel. The walls in the stairwell, lobby, and cafe are all filled with very good poetry in Spanish, which kind of offset the kitschy-ness. The... More
