This was one of the early Cancun resorts, built in the 1970s. But it really doesn't show its age, except for being smaller than the sprawling compounds that have proliferated at the center of the hotel zone. Royal Cancun's location on the edge of the resort district has benefits and liabilities. It's a quiet spot, very close to the Embarcadero... More

I have stayed at almost all of the Royal Resort properties. The other's were Some of the best places I have ever stayed at, not that this was a bad resort. This is an older resort quite off the hotel zone. Well maintained and great staff. Normally a two bedroom suite (with Royal Resorts) is two bedrooms, two baths. This... More

Facility is an older resort but is mmaculate and well maintained. Experienced some difficulties when checking in at the hotel. When we booked the resort we reserved two pool side rooms which we were told would be together. Once we arrived however we learned that the rooms were on the lagoon side and in different buildings. Plus to add insult... More

We travelled with two daughters (2 and 5). Rafeal at front desk was okay(probably not his day when we arrived), not big on welcoming. Except for him I have to give five stars to all of the staff. They were all very helpful, very welcoming and always greeted you with smile. The restaurants waiters were excellent. They always greeted us,... More

Our well travelled family of 4 ( wife has worked for Unite 20+ years) stayed at The Royal Cancun for seven days. My sons are 16 & 21. Our second time in Cancun in the last two months , a short flight from Houston. HOTEL: The hotel is a little old but very well maintained. Not the new condo granite... More

My family and I recently stayed here and had a wonderful time and are hoping to be able to get back. Our kids were 6,9, and 11. The feeling of safety and comfort was fabulous. It isn't a large hotel so you can trust that your kids can have a little freedom without getting lost. Our room B1013 was steps... More

This was the first time staying at The Royal hotel chain. I had a really good time. We were a group of 25 and we all enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very nice and clean. The food was great with the all inclusive package. The swim up bar and the staff were awesome. The rooms were very spacious and... More

The quality of the food has gone way down. Service staff can't keep up with the AI concept. Most times AI is buffet style food which they frequently run out of, can not replenish and is cold when served and ala carte prices are high based on quality of food. Service staff are still great, but they are understaffed given... More

We had a lovely family holiday to this smallish hotel complex in Cancun, It's right on the beach and we were lucky enough to have a beautiful seaview two bedroom suite/apartment. The suite was huge, two big bedrooms, kitchen, dining room/sitting room that also had a further pull-down double bed from the wall - which worked excellently for our family... More

We stayed the first two weeks of August on an II exchange so we didn't do the all inclusive. We liked that the resort is smaller than the mega resorts up the beach in the hotel zone. Taking a shuttle or a long walk from the beach to the room isn't for us. The Royal Cancun is located near the... More
