Crafted and designed by local artists, Moloch Hostel in Cancun is the perfect combination of traditional Mexican hospitality and stylish comfortable accommodation. Located right in Cancun’s Downtown (just 1 minute away from bus station) and just a few miles away from the beach, we are your gateway to know the city like locals do.
Pros Lovely & helpful staff. Booked the Chichen Itza & Cenote tour through the hostel and it was much better value for money than anything I'd seen online. Very close to ADO bus station so easy to get around. Generally clean. Cons Night staff would put the light on in the dorms even if it was at midnight when they are showing a new guest to their bed. They also had the TV on loud and I had to ask them several times to reduce it so we can sleep. Some dorm etiquette needs to be taught. AC is only on from 8pm-8pm and often times we had to remind staff to put it on.

The staff is great and the location is great as it is right next to the Ado bus station. I stayed in the dorms which were very comfortable and had big lockers. The pool looks really nice and there Our tables to hang out at. The Wi-Fi works great. The breakfast was very minimal but was nice to have on hand. It is in the central part of Cancun so not a beach place. My only complaint was the staff was continually Cleaning and not just a covid clean but I deep clean. They were constantly moving chairs, cleaning walls etc. that I felt I was in their way a lot of the time. It would have been great if they were notConstantly washing floors etc. so that you could feel comfortable and relaxing by the pool. I did find the staff super friendly and very helpful though. The staff were really good at wearing masks and following covid rules. The security was also really good.I would recommend this place for a very short stay.…

Staff was severely rude from check in and I overall during my stay. I have to admit the hostel has a good vibe with a nice pool but from the moment I arrived the lady at the desk refused to let me in, demanding my reservation while I was out on the street with a suitcase, a big backpack and a jacket coming straight from the airport 1pm, 30 degrees in Cancun's humidity. I was only allowed inside after I agreed to pay, no smile no anything. Then the lady asked me if I should be needing a bed ... After I already payed, and later asked if if I would require linen ... Of course I said. I tried to chill, the pool area is amazing for that but got super thirsty and went to the kitchen I tried to find a cup for water and another lady rudely pointed me that those cups were for breakfast only and that if I wanted water I should pay for it. I had enough, the hostel is cheap and the owner should be proud of the design and concept but there's just no excuse for rudeness. If there's rules they should be WRITTEN so there's no doubt. And if there's need to verbally point anything this is HOSPITALITY, it needs to be polite! and in hostels, friendly. There was a guy all afternoon on the sofa with his suitcase because I suppose they could not storage it after check out. I asked for the service and they told me no, for that you need to pay for a whole bed/room even if only for some hours.…

This is the most respectful clean and polite hostel I have ever been too in all my hostelling in my travels. The Staff are totally professional, the night guard is an elderly gentleman who would protect you and your belongings with his life. This hostel is both clean attractive and so close to the main bus terminal ADO that if the block were cleared you could watch the buses come and go from the sidewalk outside the hostel. It has a great little pool to cool off in, a patio under the stars as well as a tidy little kitchette to make your own food as well as enjoying your free breakfast before embarking on the next leg of your travels. It is good for solo as well as couples as it does have a few privates upstairs with air con, ensuite and tv plus private balcony, what more could anyone ask for, Moloch has it all.…

Staff was nice and friendly! I felt safe during my entire stay. Great if you’re looking for something calm and relaxing. It’s not one of those crazy party hostels. Amenities included WiFi, breakfast, computer, printer, games, pool, air conditioning, etc!!! Also steps away from the ADO bus station which was extremely convenient! Super safe area. Steps away from parks with music, shows, locally artifacts, and delicious food/desserts. Telling all my friends and family about this hostel!! Super affordable!

I have been there a few times already and the quality is steady, no ups or downs, a very quiet and clean place, with a pool at the back, good breakfast included. It is in the very center of the city. Don´t miss it!!!!

I booked one night in a private room with one bed and a shower/toilet. Located few minutes walk from the central ADO bus station, and a few from the Plaza de Palapas, it is very convenient. My room on the roof was quite, and has TV and Airco. A very simple breakfast is included. Check out is at 11am (check in 3pm), but they let you stay in the common area until 3pm for no charge. They also let me take a shower before I left to the airport for another 50 pesos after I had already checked out. There is a small pool. The hostel is kept very clean (almost obsessively).

Moloch has to be Cancuns best kept secret! This hostel is a haven of tranquillity in a tourist trap called Cancun. It is a great base for all your day trips to Playa, Cozumel and Isla Mujares. In your private room you recieve clean linens and towels daily. A shared patio two tables 8 chairs with the other privates. The free breakfast was plentiful and there is a computer and printer for guests. The pool is just right and the potted plants on the walls colorful. The gates are locked 24/7 plus a securty guard is posted at the entrance overnight from dusk to dawn. He may be old but he is ever alert.

We have been raving about this hostel before and we visited it each time we traveled to Cancun. We loved it a lot so we didn't think twice about going here. This time, we changed our minds. I believe the hostel has lost some of its greatness. Rooms were not that clean and the shared areas weren't either. Service wasn't really good and we didn't feel comfortable being there. We left early and I don't think we will be going back after our last visit. This place has a lot of unused potential. Not sure if the management has changed, but the hostel is not the same as before. Staff was quite friendly but they didn't try to make us feel at home. The hostel is supposed to be quiet after 10 PM, but there was a drunken duo that started to make a lot of noise at 4 AM and they were still singing and yelling by the time we left at 10 AM. The staff didn't even address them on that. The staff did nothing about it. Wouldn't recommend going here!…

I have stayed here on several occasions and will certainly return for more stays whenever I am in Cancun. It just checks all the boxes. It has free breakfast--WITH COFFEE! It has a good wifi network. It has friendly staff. It has good security. It has a fantastic location right between the ADO station and Palapas with everything else I need in walking distance. It has a nice pool. It has nice bathrooms and showers with abundant hot water. It has air conditioning. It's cheap! Highly recommended!
