We have stayed at most of the Royal Resorts over the past decade and can't pass up a good thing. We are not owners and timeshare trade off season. The resorts are impeccably kept and staff is superb. What we found this year as other readers have is that the restaurants were not busy at all and prices are pretty... More

This is our third trip to Cancun staying at the Royal Resorts. This is our first time at the Royal Islander. The rooms are great, the view is fabulous, the staff are awesome. The food is great and there is a bit of a variety. You can go between the other Royal resorts as well for food or entertainment. There... More

Just recently spent two weeks at the Islander and as usual there are no bad days at this wonderful resort. Staff are very friendly and helpful in every way. The facility is very well run, maintained, and super clean. Family friendly, three nice restaurants, good food, and a fun pool bar with outstanding pool bar waiters. Clean roomy villas. Beautiful... "Welcome home" were the first words we heard when we stepped out of the van that brought us to the Royal Islander. And, in a dejavu kind of way, we were home. Every year we meet old Army friends to share life stories, great food, and too many glasses of wine. As the years have passed, girlfriends have changed, families... More

We been coming to the Royal Islander Resort since 1996 and it is still a great place to have a quiet, peaceful, sun-filled vacation. We use the resort as a place to rest, read, catch up with old friends and just chill out. The resort is immaculate with lots of staff to make sure that all is kept up with.... More

This was our first trip to Cancun and it could not have been more wonderful. We had seven days of warm sunshine .We stayed at the Royal Islander with a friend who has been coming to the resort since 1997. All the staff were attentive and helpful from the minute we arrived up to the time we had to say... More

Wonderful week at the Royal Islander! The setting is beautiful and there was no occasion to be stressed-out about anything (my wife and I really needed a week like that). The pool was great, the beach was great, the wait staff at the pool and bar were wonderful. The Spa at the Royal Sands was the highlight of the week.... More

My wife and I just returned home yesterday from the Royal Islander. We had a wonderful time. We are Marriott owners and this year we traded to see Cancun. The Islander is a great place to stay. The service we received was excellent. The resort is older but is very well kept. We found the prices very reasonable at the... More

So far, in the years past, I have stayed in the Royal Mayan and the Royal Caribbean, and this year for the first time, I stayed in the Royal Islander, from 10/15-10/30/14. There has never been a time when the accommodations have not been more than satisfactory. All of the properties in the Royal Resorts are kept meticulously clean and... More

The Royal Islander is a great place to stay in Cancun with easy access to downtown, shopping, Mayan ruins, the beach, and great pools. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The ability to cook in the room (full kitchen provided with full villa) gives the variety and option to enjoy both home-cooked meals and great restaurant dining. I come... More
