This resort works Saturday-Saturday which means your key will automatically deactivate at 11am on Saturday and there's a chance you will have to change rooms then. I found this highly impractical as we had to change for a stay of only one more night. Other than that the hotel is great. If you can put up with this or it... More

Great views from the balcony, great beach, great pool, and very relaxing stay. The staff was amazing. The rooms were very clean. Thomas More travel agency offers plenty of options. The food was good and the market was very convenient.

We wanted to try a resort without all inclusive and Islander did not disappoint. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The grounds are magnificent, always clean. The Christmas decor was gorgeous. Loved the market and food at the restaurants. The free shuttle between all Royal resorts was helpful and convenient. Want to go back!

Views from our 8th floor villa continue to amaze--extraordinary turquoise blue seas and blue skies. Excellent service all around. Highly recommended for couples of any age or families. Plus the margaritas and nachos are reason enough to stay here!

Rooms are very nice, we stayed on two different floors above the pool. The higher up you are the better your view of the ocean. Thomas More travel operates out of the lobby and they were very friendly and helpful to book any excursions.

We were here with my g/f parents in the time share. Nice place, very friendly staff and exceptional service. Understanding that all accommodations have a lifespan, I would venture to say that this facility is getting near the end. Cracks in the exterior walls, continually maintenance and noticeable deficiencies help show the age of this wonderful establishment. The rooms were... More

As a 19-year member, I have watched the Royal Islander transition through Cancun's changes in economy and pressures of the American and other countries' populations upon it. The Royal Islander has remained steadfast in its service, cleanliness, and maintenance. The grounds are meticulously groomed, the lobby and common areas are spotless. The maid service is daily, except on Sundays. I... More

The Royal Islander is a rather small timeshare resort near the south end of the hotel zone. Here is a summary of the positive and negative aspects of the resort followed by some suggestions. POSITIVE The grounds are beautiful and constantly maintained. They have ample staff to care for the pool, gardens, lobby, etc. Great care is taken to keep... More

We have been coming to the Royal Resorts for over 20 years and the standards are still the same - excellent. This resort is smaller than their sister next door resort but has all you require. A straight walk out onto the white sandy beach with the Ocean just a very short walk away. Tip one - Free beach towels... More
