Beautiful hotel. Had a corner room, one window looked out at the ocean and the other one looked down at the main pool area. Comfy, clean and modern-looking room. Beach was wonderful, clean, super soft sand. The water was clear and turquoise blue, gorgeous, and oddly very warm, sometimes hot in areas. Went in August and was able to enjoy... More

This hotel has an excellent pool/volleyball sand pit/beach area. Comparable to a four/five star hotel. The white cabanas are beautiful. The hot tub is overlooking the beach, which is awesome. Now if you step inside the hotel, that's where it screams three stars. Rooms are very clean, but everything is very ordinary looking. The bed, the tv, the lamp, the... More

Stayed there 2 nights with family and friends for Christmas week. First of all this place is close to the airport and at southern end of the hotel zone - away from restaurants, malls, ferry docks etc. Service folks are friendly and pleasant but everything else is below grade. The dated rooms are as basic as they get with very... More

This is my second time here. I wasn't disappointed the first time nor the second. This place is very reasonably priced. Although I will admit, the first time I went, I thought they had a larger variety of food as we were also allowed to use the buffets and sitdown restaurants from the neighboring hotel, and this time we weren't.... We spent one week at Hotel y Villas / Hotel Solaris in Cancun in December 2011. We booked our trip through RCI. We are an active couple in our 40s and travel a decent amount. We have been to 1 other all-inclusive in Cancun previously and didnt have super hgh expectations, but this was a real disappointment. We like things... More

Just retrned yesterday Dec. 20, 2011 and this is the first review I have written about any place we stayed in Mexico. This was our first trip to Cancun and we certainly selected the right resort. This hotel really understands what customer service means. They do everything possible to make your stay enjoyable. Food was good, help is excellent, and... More

We rented two rooms over the Thanksgiving holiday. Booked through Hotwire.com. Found out that it is better to go directly through Best Day Travel (online) to book round-trip shuttle from airport to resort, as Hotwire tacks on an extra $7 a person fee for that same, short ride. Rooms were average (tile floors, two queen beds), but view of ocean... More

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon. I would not recommend the Royal Solaris for a Honeymoon trip, it lacks in personal service. In fact, we even presented a copy of our marriage license when we arrived...we receieved nothing...not even a congratulations. Cancun in general is very friendly. Everyone is willing to give you a little help. More

My husband and I stayed the first week of December for our 8th visit. We really enjoyed the beach and beach service (this is important to us because we spent most of our time there). I think the food was very good, we ate our dinners at Marco Polo and Veneto, and our lunch at Bogavante. We hung out in... More
