We had over $500 stolen from our purses by the cleaning ladies. We were inside the villa but asleep in the rooms. The 2 purses from which they stole, were out in the living area. Management has done nothing about it. We did fill out a report with their security but aside from that, nothing. I was told to come... More

Our original vacation plans were ruined, so at the last minute we booked a two room suite here. It's hard to find accommodations for a family of five, but this set up was great. The room was clean and well furnished. The plumbing was fragile, with occasionally clogging toilets and a distinct lack of hot water on some days. The... More

Spent a week in Feb.2005 in a waterfront room. The accomodations were adequate - not fancy. We were impressed with the wait staff; always freindly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was wonderful and always fresh. We would go back if they would guarantee a new mattress.

Our original hotel had overbooked so we were transferred to Villas Tacul. It was wonderful. Mostly adults on property, room was on the small side yet very clean, lots of towels, 95% of waitstaff was very courteous and friendly, food was all good - great salsa and guacamole (try their Ixtapa salsa in very small doses), beach pristine and uncrowded.... Stayed 7 nights at the Villas Tacul in January. Great family hotel. We reserved a two bedroom villa. The villa was great. The main part of the villa was a large living area, small kitchen and king size bed. Then there were two more bedrooms consisting of two double beds and their own bathroom in each. 3 baths in all.... My husband, daughter (15 months) and I stayed here Oct 22-28th, after a friend highly recommended it. It was our first trip to Cancun. Overall Villas Tacul was a lovely place, very spread out with stucco villas, lots of gardens, fountains, etc. We had a studio room with a kitchen right on the beach, and the view was beautiful. Unfortunalty,... More

We stayed at Villas Tacul at the end of August of 2002. My mother-in-law got a room that smelled like dead rat and had an overflowing toilet. Hours later they gave her a better room. We had a studio with the kitchenette. Everything was unplugged when we got there so the mini refrigerator had a funky smell. My biggest complaint... More

The room had a nice beach view...i can't complain about that. However, they never gave us requested wake-up calls, they attempted to overcharge us to make local calls from the hotel rooms, the rooms had a strong meldew smell which made our clothes smell awful, their beach was dirty we didn't have any water running for about two nights. That meant... More

We went 5/3-13/04 (10 Days). We stayed in Villa 903, 2 double beds, ocean view.....NICE room, but not elegant. If you want the Ritz, stay there. But if you are looking for old Mexico charm you can not beat the Villas Tacul!!! The food at the restaurant was amazing. The bartenders and waiters took extremely good care of us from... More

First week of March we spent 6 days at Villas Tacul and felt we had to post a review here. What a great hotel! If you want to go to Cancun and still feel like you're in Mexico (not a big fancy hotel), this is the place. Excellent, friendly, personalized service. Restaurant and poolside cafe are fabulous (Had the Fajitas... More
