Overall, I really liked this hotel. The room was nicely decorated and was very clean. The courtyard is really beautiful and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful. more

My husband and I stayed at Hotel America in mid-April 2009. Overall I enjoyed my stay here although there are a couple improvements they could make. One the positive this hotel is in a perfect location and we had no problem finding parking right outside on the street. The hotel is in a beautiful old colonial building and I would... more

I stayed for a night with my wife & kids. We were attracted by photos of the colonial courtyard we'd seen. Yes, it's a nice feature, but in general the hotel looks in need of updating. We paid $561 Mex Pesos for our double. On the whole the postives were: The rooms are spacious and the bed was firm &... more

Stayed here in August 2006 and we were quite happy with our choice. Great location, very nice lobby with black and white tiles, picturesque inner yard where you can have a continental breakfast (toast, coffee, banana), small restaurant. Staff is very friendly and if I well remember there's free internet connection in the lobby. Rooms quite small and dark, but... more

Stayed there for three nights ; we had booked for one night but on arrival, we decided it was OK and extended the stay; got a 10% discount on 2nd and 3rd night. Room was bigger than average, beds were firm, everything very clean. Reception clerks were very helpful with directions, tips on restaurants etc. Internet access free but only... more

We arrived without a booking and first of all we were told they had no rooms. They kindly tried phoning a couple of other hotels for us - which also proved to be full. Then they suddenly found they would have a room for us after all which would be ready in an hour's time. We were very grateful (we... more

My husband and I stayed in the Hotel America Jan 10-12. Our double room with two beds was 510 pesos per night. The price included parking in an attended parking lot approx 2 blocks from the hotel; breakfast of coffee, orange juice, toast w/butter and jelly, and a banana; and internet access from a computer at the front desk. Breakfast... more

A very basic no-frills hotel. The room and bathroom were clean but were a little dark and dingy. The hot water in the shower came in bursts. The free breakfast includes two slices of cold toast and some orange juice and coffee. The staff is helpful but do not speak a lot of english. The best thing about this place was... more

I enjoyed my stay here, it's very central for the town and was very comfortable. Beds were good (in a country of hard beds, I was very grateful!) Room was decently-sized, dark and quiet. The hotel is very close to the Zocalo and had a pleasant courtyard in the center. Would certainly stay here again. more

Arrived at this hotel with credit card guaranteed reservation for three rooms. We were told they had the reservation but had no rooms--they offered no apology and no offer to help. After a long discussion with the desk clerk, we were offered one room for three people. When we looked at the room, it had not been cleaned and had... more
