I loved, loved, loved this hotel! I wish I could have stayed more than the one night I was there! I traveled all over the Yucatan and have to say this was my favorite! Campeche is a great city and very easy to navigate-not too big. And let me say, the hotel's pool was perfect after a hot day of... more

We stayed in this hotel in mid May, 2009 and loved it. We had a suite which was only about $10 more a night, surely worth it. Nice big room and bathroom, very clean, small veranda. Easy wireless internet access. The pool is small but not used much and also very clean. If you like a rustic, old world atmosphere... more

In all of my travels during my 18 months living in Mexico, I haven't seen a nicer place for such a great price. The Castelmar was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Tabasco and Campeche. The rate we got, 700 pesos a night ($52), was probably lower than normal because of the swine flu craze- but even at the... more

On our trip through Mexico this was the hotel with the lowest price and with an excellent value. Check in was done very fast and our baggage was taken from the car directly to the room. We received two vouchers for the breakfast the next morning which was a small buffet in the patio of the hotel. (more continental but... more

Can't beat location; very clean rooms; pleasant, open courtyard; parking on street right outside of hotel was fine; friendly staff; small, well maintained pool; b-fast not included (didn't eat there); bathroom a bit small but fine; we had street-side room w/small balcony w/lots of street noise (and noisy birds flocking in nearby trees!), but quiet mostly at night; interior rooms... more

Central location for Historical center and Malecon of Campeche. Comfortable & quiet rooms. We had a room upstairs and at the rear. There some rooms at ground level or over looking the street and could imagine that they might get a bit of street noise!! Character building which is well maintained plus helpful staff recommended property . more

There are many good aspects to this hotel, and if we were in Campeche again we would probably consider staying there again. The colonial courtyard is very charming. The staff was very pleasant and courteous. The room was very roomy and clean... although when we would return in the afternoon for a siesta and respite from the heat, the maids... more

After a very long day touring from Tulum all the way to Campeche, we got to the Castlemar and it was like arriving in Heaven. This hotel used to be the barracks for the Mexican army, but coverted to the hotel business some 100 years ago or so. Despite a somewhat austere decorating theme (what little decor there is tends... more

Campeche is not a great city. so stay there only a night. You have to drive a lot to find anice beach but for a stop over this hotel is so lovely. People at the lobby are frindly, the room was really nice. The swimming pool was great, small but nice. cindyrome more
