My wife and I spent two nights here. This is NOT your typical Holiday Inn.....and that is a good thing. This HI is quite old and historic with old world charm such as hand painted tiles and high ceilings with wooden beams. The couryard was gorgeous and the small pool in the courtyard very refreshing and inviting. Its proximity to... More

It’s the most unusual Holiday Inn I’ve been to. It’s situated in old colonial building (17 or 18 century), near zocalo. Rooms are pretty big, with very high ceilings and stylized furniture. Breakfast was mostly Mexican (fried bananas, eggs, potatoes, etc). Free WI-FI (you’ve got to get password from reception) was very weak in the room, had to seat in... More

We stayed here 3 nights in March 2010. We had room 105, a gigantic room with 2 double beds, dresser, big TV w/remote, and enough room for a table and 4 chairs or 2 more beds. The floors were tile and the windows overlooked the HI private (free) parking lot. We had a pretty ceramic sink in the bathroom with... More

We were in and out of Veracruz 3 times in our two month trip to Mexico. Because of its good value for the $$$ we stayed here each time. This is nothing like what we think of as Holiday Inn in the US, and I mostly mean that in a good way. It's an historic building. The location is super... More

This hotel is located in a pretty good spot. Not as good as a place we saw on the plaza called Digilencias, but sufficient good and near all the downtown markets and sights. The big issue was that the rooms are tiny. They moved us into a larger room which was nicer. The shower however was a disaster. There is... More

We were traveling to Bacalar, Quintanaroo coming from Monterrey. After traveling about 12 hours we were very tired and just wanted to stay some where clean and safe. The hotel did that very clean and very safe to park your car. The hotel is located in what use to be the old city hall of the city of Veracruz. We... More

This hotel is a clear example of how the Holiday Inn chain is becoming in several regions of Latin America. Hotel staff try to do their best, but the lack of training is sometimes evident. Even getting a smile from them is not so common. But the worst thing comes for stays of more than 1 or 2 nights. Here... More

Having stayed here four or five times, I do hope to return. My stays in Veracruz have included four hotels in the center of town and several more in the beach area. As far as I am concerned, this is the best in the center, so the only choice is whether you want to stay in the center and travel... More

It appears that this hotel has had a troubled past with poor investment and bad management but given what I had read and been told about they have turned this place around full circle. Rooms are very clean indeed, comfortable beds, plenty of TV channels for rainy evenings, attentive staff and even free business center for internet. Breakfast was well... More

This hotel was dirty and we had an ant infestation. They did nothing about it, not even a faint appology. We were going to stay for 7 days and left after the second when nothing was done to resolve the problems. This is the worst Holiday Inn I have ever stayed in.
