Cheap with a good location in front of the pier, with a cooperative and helpful staff, no view room in the first floor, the room was clean with a hard bed but acceptable , the bathroom was clean, shower with hot water, free wifi, basic cable tv, the restaurant definitely not the best if you want to eat local food.... I arrived at 9pm after a long journey and all I wanted was to jump into bed and sleep I had booked a standard room (M$500). The standard rooms are a bit dated and quite stuffy with no view and you have to have the fan or A/C on. They are clean and beds are comfy. The noise from the... More

The hotel is on the corner between the veracruz port pier, and a small beach. The beach is swimmable, though a bit dirty. The location is a leisurly walk from the zocalo, and on Carnaval, right at the starting point of the North to South parade. Overall a solid, well maintained hotel. Nothing fancy. The breakfast buffet is at the... More

The Mar y Tierra is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it is clean and comfortable. The location is splendid--a ten-minute walk along the malecon to the Zocalo. The staff are friendly and unobtrusive. Try to get 204, 304, or 404, all of which have terrific views. I visit Veracruz two or three times a year and I... More

The Mar y Tierra offers pretty standard rooms with cable TV and air conditioning. Everything was basic but clean and comfortable. Our window opened out onto an air shaft and in the bathroom, the shower got the whole floor wet, but those were the only complaints I had. The staff were friendly and approachable. As for the rest of the... More

We stayed here on a diving trip to Veracruz. As others have mentioned, Veracruz is a commercial port and not a tourist destination, and the beach is not very nice. On the other hand, it's great for diving and the weather is lovely. The hotel has a wonderful location, right on the seafront and within walking distance of the town... More

During my stay at this hotel there was a youth soccer league also staying there. This was not good. The kids were very loud, running around the hallway, jumping off of the hot tub into the pool, etc. We had an inside room. It was extremely small with one window in the bathroom facing other bathrooms. It was located near... More

This hotel is located near Malecon in Veracruz. The lobby looks "nice", the restaurant is nice decorated and they cook well. The room is one of the worst I have ever stayed. The bed totally unconfortable, when you enter the bathroom you have this unpleasant sensation of saying "is this clean enough so I can take a bath here?". I... More
