We looked around at 3 or 4 places before settling on Posada Coatepec and I'm glad we did. This is an old coffee hacienda that was converted to a hotel many years ago. We had a king size bed room, way in the back. While a bit dark (maybe they could get some brighter light bulbs), it was a beautiful... More

A lovely old building well preserved and presented provides a great contrast to city hotels i usually have to use. Wifi connection was patchy and slow - only just serviceable. Breakfast was excellent - but slow Coffee in the old courtyard is lovely.

I have stayed several times in this property, but this time the internet was nos available and the personnel could not care less. I think is time to look for an alternative. The hotel is a very nice property, but customer service had deteriorated over time. There was usually space to park in front of the hotel so the valet... More

The Posada Coatepec was recommended to us, however, apart from its grand architecture this hotel was completely over rated. The staff were very unfriendly to the point where we felt uncomfortable and the room was very basic for the price. There are much better hotels at a cheaper rate in Coatepec.

Coatepec is what is cold one Pueblo Mágico. The hotel is very well located in front of the Iglesia de la Virgen de Guadalupe and a very short walk from Catedral. A very well maintained house, each room is different. Very ample. The food is incredible, and the restaurant has plenty of art from very known artists like Dr. Atl.... More

Very tastefully decorated and an efficient staff make this a fine place. Some of the suites are really grand but be aware that the smaller rooms are very average. Nothing horrible but when you consider the prices, you have to wonder what you're getting. A very little snooping will find you comparable rooms at a fraction of the price. Continental... More

This hotel is a converted hacienda. The facilities semm to have seen better days, and the room rates reflect it's reputation more than it's current condition. However, the staff is top-notch, and you'll want for nothing in terms of service. From the chamber maids, to the desk clerks, to the manager, all were very helpful and courteous. The was a... More

My recent 5-day stay at the Posada Coatepec was pleasant and relaxing. The Posada is located just 2 blocks from the main zocalo, banks, restaurants, bars, the local mercado and several shops selling coffee (beans or ground, your pick). The rooms are large and well appointed and best of all. The bed in my room was comfortable and I slept... More

We wanted to visit Xalapa for a few days and thought we'd book into Posada Coatepec since it appeared to be very near Xalapa. A taxi to Xalapa cost us 70 pesos + tip. About Posada Coatepec and Coatepec itself: Posada Coagtepec is beautiful and is within easy walking distance of the Coatepec Zocalo (about 4 blocks). Coatepec is a... More

We discovered this hotel while visiting Coatepec. We asked to see the inside of the hotel and some of its rooms. The staff was very friendly and very proud to show off their place. The place is like an old hacienda with courtyards, gardens, a swimming pool, a restaurant, and a bar. It is totally gorgeous, and right in the... More
