. . . A lovely, centrally located inn with beautifully landscaped gardens and an artist's eye for detail! Those who need elevators or regular hotel amenities should give it a pass (keep your bags to a minimum; in order to get to several of the rooms, you'll be hauling up several flights of stone stairs), but it's the perfect spot... It's been a few years since I stayed here, but I felt inclined to write a review because it's such a great place for the price. The grounds are beautiful, quiet and green. The bed's a pillow top (unusual for Mexico). The rooms are clean and well-kept. Ours had a great balcony, which I sunbathed on while my mom was... More

We stayed at Hotel Posada San Javier in January, 2007, for three nights. The location is excellent--near the center but not right in the noisy part of town. The grounds of the hotel are outstanding--you are so close to the center but in a garden oasis. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden, by the pool, after several hours of... More

A place of charm, an oasis in this buzzing jewelry town. Quiet, courtyard with tropical blooms, a room that makes you think of an hacienda with doors of rought iron work; the furnishings pleasantly aged; a tile floor; a private balcony...... Great central location right with the action. I doubt that much of the hotel face the street; it is... More

This is such a great place and such a good spot in Taxco. Charming garden and nice pool area. Rooms with TV are a little more, but they are worth it. Only downside is that they don't take credit cards...

This was a beautiful small hotel in the heart of Taxco. My suite was large, but the bathroom smelled very musty. The grounds were very beautiful and the pool was clean and swimable. Breakfast was not included and was bought at the hotel restaurant which has a nice view but was understaffed and took forever to get served. Taxco is... More

This hotel was a delight to stay in. Restaurant / Pool / Nice room, all well kept at an excellent price. This hotel is nicely located as well and close to everything. On our tour of Mexico, this was another very pleasant surprise, even though we had rented a low cost room there. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to... More

We have been to Taxco 3 times and this was the first time we stayed at the Posada San Javier. It's a very short and easy walk to the center of town (zocolo). Each room is different and has a name, ours was Magnolia. It was very clean, very roomy, and it even had a separate sitting area with tv.... More

We were told to arrive before 1pm to avoid reservation cancellation. Got there at about 12:55, were assigned rm #10 but told that check in was at 2pm. Go figure. The grounds are nice: palm trees and lemon trees surround a pool. It's very pleasant to sit there. BUT... the pool is so cold that even my youngest daughter had... More

My friend and I were on a recent buying trip in Taxco. I reviewed the trip advisory and decided to stay at the hotel, Posada de San Javier. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The flowers on the property and around the pool were simply beautiful! Just remember, as I was reminded, that... More
