Arrived following an 8 hour bus journey during a torrential downpour. The roads were awash. I was soaked including my shoes. I knocked on the gate and called out to the staff but they were reluctant to open the gate for fear of getting wet while I stood there freezing. Eventually they found an umbrella and came to the gate... More

I'm so happy my girlfriend and I stayed here while in San Cristobal. The free breakfast is delicious, there are workers on staff who speak English, the wifi works, and there's even a quiet rooftop for great mountain views. The staff was extremely courteous, and we had no problems checking in when our bus arrived to San Cristobal in the... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and had a private room with shared bathroom. You can't beat the price of this place, and it was secure, clean and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast in the mornings was very good. It's also quite centrally located. We booked two tours through them also, and you can book your bus to other cities... More

Excellent service, free breakfast everyday, the rooms get cleaned everyday, the staff can help you with everything (bus tickets, tours, etc). The hostel is close to the center, it has a perfect location. Overall it is a great place and it is not expensive

My stay for 3 nights were satisfactory. A bright , quiet and clean room, kind staff and the breakfast which was not big but OK. I had no complaints. My room was the best in the separate building: the first one after the stairs. It had wide windows and wifi was available in the room. But some of others room... More

We enjoyed our 5 nights at Le Gite del Sol. Well located and spotlessly clean. Room cleaned and towels changed every day. Friendly staff and owners. English speaking owner really helps us language challenged Kiwis. Good breakfast to set you up for the day. Room had traffic noise but would definitely go back.

We arrived without a booking very early in the morning, they managed to get a room clean and ready for us about 8.30am which was good. The manager seems very friendly and always wanting to help. Because we had a shared bathroom, they took us to the other building over the road. Still decent enough. Breakfast is pretty good, you... More

We found this place via Lonley Palnet. Went there to check it out. The person we talked to even not opened the gate and was unpolite to us. Bad feeling. Not helpful at all. I had some problem to solve and could not count on this "amazing people". Too much Lonley Planet fame, I guess. Luckily there are other good... More

Taking the time to share our wonderful experience with this hostel because reviews are a gift to people searching for a place to stay as well as hotel owners that take pride in what they do. We arrived later that night than we had expected (12:30am), worried that there'd be no one awake to greet us when we pulled up... More

I stayed here in late November 2014 with my girlfriend. It was a great value for our 2 night stay. Accommodations were basic but clean. It was also very cold in San Cristobel for our stay and we were provided with plenty of blankets. The owners were very friendly. When we had to leave very early on the last day... More
