We brought our five year old boy and had a blast. Cisco has a lot of knowledge and anecdotes about San Cristóbal and Chiapas in general. You can relax, or engage with the family, very easy, happy experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 6 day stay at Sol y Luna. In fact, it was the highlight of my trip to San Cristobal. Everything about Sol y Luna was great: the room (tastefully decorated and comfortable), bathroom (spacious with good water pressure and temperature), location (few blocks away from the center), breakfasts (wholesome and tasty), the hosts Cisco and Danni... Cisco, an American living in San Cristobal for many years, and his Honduran wife Danny are both wonderful hosts. Danny speaks enough English to get by when her husband is gone as he was during our stay, and I enjoyed practicing some Spanish with her. The B&B has apparently been there for the many years of Cisco's residence and during... More

This was a great experience. Like other posters have mentioned, the 3 children play a major role in your stay here. As teachers, we enjoyed interacting with them each day, but could see how it might irritate some. That said, it was a wonderful place to stay and a good base from which to explore the town. Located on a... More

We enjoyed staying at the Sol y Luna Bed and Breakfast. Cisco's advice was spot-on. He knows the best restaurants in town and has been to all the outlying attractions--and in fact, he runs one of them himself. His wife, and his kids are charming and we enjoyed our time with them. The twin toddler boys are a lot of... More

We spend 3 nights at Sol y Luna, on the recommendation of some friends. We weren't disappointed. It's an old building, so don't expect perfect flat surfaces, or pristine minimalism. The whole (amazing) complex is like a cabinet of curiosities and art, with the discovery each day of something new and delightful! It was freezing (but apparently warm for December)... More

I originally found Cisco when i was looking for someone to help me do a photography project in Chiapas, as he is a very accomplished photographer and had 20 years experience living in Chiapas. He mentioned he also owned a BnB, which turned out to be the beautiful Sol y Luna. From the moment I arrived I fell for the... More

We spent 2 nights at this beautiful hotel off the beaten path. After riding through the countryside we made a right turn into a dirt road and approached a high gate. One the gate opened we realized that we had entered an oasis. The cottages are beautifully appointed with local art and ceramics. The rooms are spacious and the fireplace... More

This was my second stay with Cisco & Dani at Sol y Luna B&B. It is a very nice home to stay in: large rooms, comfy beds, nice hot water & best of all really friendly & knowledgeable hosts. Located up near the artesania market & most beuatiful church & new textile museum & mercado. It really does feel like... More
