My wife and I recently spent a month with Bela. We stayed in the suite with the king size bed and a view over the rooftops of the old city. We were not just comfortable, but cozy, in spite of San Cristobal's cool nights. The breakfasts are ample and delicious, the other guests who gather around the communal table are... More

with its great array of tropical plants and wild color, yet dinner was served and the salad with its grated beets, carrots in a bed of varied greens nearly matched this. This is a "b and b," so dinner (Mexican hour at 2:30) isn't an included feature; however, it is worthwhile to arrange with Bela to eat this, as the... More

It is almost a year since we stayed at Bela's fine casa and after three years of travel we have yet to discover a more delightful B&B. From the minute you step through the heavy doors into a tranquil garden full of colourful, luxuriant plants and charming local ceramics you feel completely at home. Our room was exceptionally clean and... More

Great place, good room. Bela was very helpful with all kinds of tips for our time. We used the driver she recommended who was great. When we had tragedy strike (teenage daughter lost her iPhone) she was there (teenage daughter found phone in other bag after recovery action was in progress) and not at all upset about the stupid drama.... 1. Short Version - stay here. 2. Expanded version - This was my second visit to SC. Stayed for one week in the uppermost room with a patio which had sunlight all day and made for a great feeling of privacy. The queen bed was excellent, shower good, everything very clean, steps not a problem (71 and both knees replaced),... More

I have harbored a wish to have my own B&B one day for many years. If I ever do, Bela will be my role model. With an incredibly relaxed and warm, knowledgable personality she runs her beautiful business to perfection. She has thought of EVERYTHING for the comfort of her guests and I felt totally at home. The communal breakfasts... More

We arrived at on Christmas Eve - tired and cold and were welcomed into the oasis that is Bela's. A stunning garden courtyard, lovely furnishings, electric blankets, the most comfortable bed that we've had in Mexico, not to mention a beautiful vista over the rooftops out to the mountains from our upstairs room. Bela is warm and welcoming - even... More

This was our second time at Bela's. We love staying here. She is a fine host, whom truly cares about your experience. Bela places great care to fine details. We are looking forward to return. We stayed at the uppermost room, with a terrace that overlooks the city. The location is very convenient and you can walk from here to... More

Stayed at Bella's for a second time and I think it is still a wonderful unique experience. You can believe the other excellent reviews and reviewers and their positive details about their stay. This trip I stayed in one of the two smaller cabin rooms with a shared bath. My traveling academic colleague had the other. As this was his... More

Bela has a beautiful house and especially garden, with many interesting people as your fellow guests. She had her staff (a whole Mayan family, of 3 generations) make us a wonderful Mayan Thanksgiving comida, with chicken mole (a special Mayan kind) and sopa de pan (the Mayan specialty of soup with bread and vegetables). Her doggies (four) add even more... More
