I found Na Balom to be a great place to stay. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and this place with it's fireplaces and ambiance was about as romantic as it could get. Our room was cozy and clean. I would stay there any time I visit San Christobal. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. The only downside... more

I stayed one night at the museum Na Bolom in a "junior suite" type room on the second floor (each room has it's own name, mine started with a J, and I can't remember the whole word!). The bed was very, very comfortable with a down comforter and plenty of other blankets. There's also a fireplace, a view of the... more

I recently stayed at Na Bolom for five nights, from April 27-May 1, and I have to say that my experience there was mixed. My expectations of Na Bolom may have been set high by the fact that virtually everything I have read about the place has been overwhelmingly positive. One of the things that Na Bolom is reknowned for... more

We arrived late at night to San Cristobal and went directly to Na Bolom w/no reservation. The manager was so accomodating and helpful. I read some reviews that the rooms were overpriced. We absolutely loved the experience at Na Bolom - we stayed 5 nights! The rooms were dark, but had wonderful down comforters and the fireplace was so wonderful.... more

We live in Mexico City and met up with a group from Houston, many of whom are freinds. I had heard about Na Bolom from my husband who had eaten dinner there one night when Trudy Bloom was still alive. I have to say it was much more than I could ever have anticipated. I read the review someone else... more

The history of this museum/hotel/restaurant is simply fascinating and their mission is inspiring. The grounds are lovely, and the rooms (with their own fireplace) are definitely charming. The staff is quite helpful, and it is really something else when you can experience the hotel as more than just a visitor for an hour or so. We had dinner one night... more

The beautiful grounds -- particularly the spacious forested gardens in the rear of the hotel -- make Na Balom worth a visit. However, it is a lot cheaper to stay in one of the nearby hotels and visit the grounds and museum during the day for the more reasonable entry fee. The rooms of the hotel are set around courtyards.... more

Na Balom evokes all kinds of 'responses' from all kinds of people. My personal belief is: If you don't 'get' Na Balom....you really have no business travelling! The entire purpose, one would think, of travel.....is to get the feel of the place to which one has travelled! Na Balom is gracious in the extreme. The help is gentle, lovely and... more

We have stayed twice at Na Bolom (2001 and 2004) and have very much enjoyed the hospitality and atmosphere. The gardens are beautiful, the rooms are cozy and the staff treated us extremely well. During our last visit, my wife and son were ill for a couple of days and the staff brought them treats and flowers for the room.... more

After reading glowing reports about Na Bolom, we reserved a room for 3 nights, but were extremely disppointed. The room was small and quite dark, the furniture basic, and it smelled strongly of ash from the open fire. As I get asthma, this was a major problem for me, and we could not stay. We changed to the Hotel Casa... more
