My partner and I stayed at Ganesha in mid January. We didn't really like the place. It did have character...nice decorations etc but wasn't a comfortable experience for us. Firstly...the showers were luke warm and sometimes not even that. And there's only 2 showers all the guests and each of these showers also comprises of a toilet. So 2 toilets... More

The first think I remember about this place is the quietness , Anyone should take at least one yoga class inside the posada When I did it it was just me and my bf and we really enjoyed! The weather is San Cristobal is super cold and I had no idea about it when I went there , so remember... More

Posada Ganesha is a superb hostel wich cares a lot for details and cleaness. The place is very central, just 2 blocks from the city core but in a really quiet street. The hostel itself is beautiful, with garden, plants everywhere and nice, clean and richly maintained rooms. Really good breakfast plenty of fruits, granola and toasts, butter and jam.... More

I stayed her four years ago and made friends for life at Ganesha Posada. I still hang out with the people I met at this place which make it a special place for me. The first time I was in San Cristobal I spended more than a week in this place before I went to a Mexican host family which... More

If you love yoga take a class here on Tuesday or Thursday with Allen. Otherwise avoid this place. There are much better hostels in the area and you won't have to deal with dark rooms, minimal hot water, old beat up mattresses, dirty pillows, and one of the surliest hostel managers I've ever encountered.

I recently spent 4 nights at Ganesha Posada in San Cristobal, a return visit for me, and a very happy one. This was part of a 3-week jaunt through the Yucatan and Chiapas, San Cristobal is one of my favourite places in Mexico, despite the cool/cold weather, and Ganesha is my fave place to stay. The property is close to... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Posada Ganesha for two nights on our overland trip from Cancun to Mexico City. The place certainly has charm and potential but the rooms are dark, (the first we were offered had no window!) and overdue for a fresh coat of paint. We were aware that there were no en-suite bathrooms and although... More

This is a great little find on a budget. The hostel has dorm rooms and private rooms, with breakfast, wifi and HOT showers included. There is a great little courtyard and a communal area to relax in, plus it has its own yoga studio which you are allowed to use to yourself if there are no classes on. They have... More

This place is just lovely. Pretty quiet, Indian fabrics on the walls, relaxing, sunny courtyard. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff are friendly and considerate. There are only 2 bathrooms for the 7 rooms but the steaming hot showers and incredible water pressure (a necessity when you have thick long hair) make it absolutely worth it. Breakfast is... More
