We were staying here for 5 nights for a wedding and the hotel had been organised by the bride. When making the reservation we had asked for a nice room as it was my wife´s birthday. We were told that would be no problem. We were given a small room with no view and 1 window in the bathroom that... More

We only stayed one night as we had other plans. I called the day before, my broken Spanish was good enough but no one seemed to speak any English. But why should they, we saw hardly any other Americans, they watch too much TV and don't travel to real Mexico. Fine with me , too bad for the tourism industry.... More

We got to The front desk very tired from long trip at night and The lady Jessenia just informed to us with a big smile: Your reservation is for another day and we have NO rooms for tonight. Of course we proved to her our reservation was correct for that night and 4 more. We had reserved and paid for... More

I stayed at the Hotel Casa Mexicana in San Cristobal de las Casas for two nights as part of a tour of Mexico. The hotel consists of two buildings, one more or less in front of the other, along a rather narrow road. Both buildings are very traditional Mexican houses with a courtyard in the middle and rooms on two... More

The Casa Americana is a great little hotel in a lovely part of San Cristobal. It is 2 blocks from the town square and close to the restaurant and bar streets. The central courtyard near reception and the restaurant features a lovely grotto garden which is quite delightful. The desk staff were polite and welcoming. We were fortunate enough to... More

This place was an unexpected treasure espcially as the singles group tour I was on had listed this as a standard as opposed to a comfortable hotel. My expectations were therefore tainted and to see my room was an unexpected surprise. The bed was comfortable, and as I was at the back of the hotel, was not noisy at all.... More

Good location a few streets from the main square and a huge market in the opposite direction. A lovely hotel divided into two separate accommodation areas. I stayed for two nights and was located in the courtyard area opposite the main reception and restaurant. The courtyard is very pleasant and my room was well furnished with two double beds and... We arrived in San Cristobal with the nightbus, early in the morning. The day before we had an exhausting mountainbiking experience, so we were in dire need for a shower and fresh clothes. We entered the hotel before 9am and that early you just cannot expect your room to be ready. But it was! We were really impressed and happy... More

The hotel location is great and the staff tries hard. Unfortunately that does not make up for the basic design flaw of how the hotel is laid out. In the main building the doors and windows in the rooms all open to a central courtyard with the walkway immediately adjacent to the doors and windows so you are basically exposed... More

The hotel itself is in a good location, just a block from the main pedestrian areas and shops. Reception is nice, staff is friendly, although, as said, this depends on who you meet. They have their own parking lot, very convenient. Hotel is mostly used group travel, so can be crowded at some times, but not disturbing. You can have... More
