We booked a trip from Guatemala to San Cristobal de las Casas. This amateuristic company did not pick us up in the boarder as arranged and force us to pay a private taxi from Guatemala boarder to where their shuttle was parked if we wanted to continue the trip. We refused to pay as all service was included in the... More

OK hotel. Clean rooms and quiet hotel in a good location. The rooms are dark and only has one window facing the courtyard. The service in the reception is basically non-existent (at least for non-spanish speakers). All in all a decent hotel but nothing special. Would go for a smaller guest house somewhere else if I came back. I think... More

The hotel has plenty of rooms to accommodate groups. The courtyard has chairs and tables where you can spend some time for leisure. The rooms are generally of good quality regarding surface. They have a tour agency in the same building in case you wanted to do some activity. The location is very good on the main strip, 3 blocks... More

Our tour group stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during our stay in San Cristobal de las Casas. Found the location of the accommodation to be well positioned in this lovely place. Room was well appointed, we were located on the top floor, next to the rooftop terrace and had no issues with the view from there! The weather... More

Basic room, plenty of hot water ...right on pedestrian walkway. 3rd floor rooms have a view of the... More

Our backpacking company booked us into this hotel. It is well located off the main drag and very close to the Zocalo. We had a small room and bed for a couple, there are larger beds in the rooms off the courtyard. The room is basic but modern and clean with a reading light, TV and a new bathroom.

We took a chance on Casa Margarita based upon reviews by other TripAdvisor members. We were not disappointed. The location is great, being only 1 1/2 blocks from the zocalo. It is located on Real de Guadalupe, which is one of the 3 tourist walkways in the centro historico. Comments about the rooms are very accurate: a bit small and... More

The Casa Margarita is a wonderful place to stay for the price. The price is very reasonable. The room is a little small and the lighting isn't the best, but with that said I had stayed at lots of hotels I could have said the same things about for twice the price. The room was very clean and in a... More

Agree with others - good value. Room was quite small, but clean and comfortable. Also a bit dark, like all colonial hotels in Central America. Breakfast at Posada Margarita was included in our price which was very nice - a choice of hot breakfast or yummy fruit, yoghurt and toasted oatmeal - I was impressed with the presentation!

This hotel is great...it's in a great location only 1.5 blocks from Central Square. The rooms are clean and showers are hot. Free wifi and there are free in room safe deposit box! The staff are wonderful to deal with and always have a smile on their face. Make sure you check around for prices for tours though, as the... More
