Perfectly situated, great experience, very nice and comfy rooms! The staff is very welcome, the ambiance suits Oaxaca very well. Also, you can ask and taste different types of Mezcal, this was a bonus experience and highly recomended, be sure to ask for this

Our room was tucked up high off a crazy staircase, but was very roomy and clean. Felt very safe walking to the hotel and back at night, and the courtyard was a nice place for breakfast. The hotel was helpful in booking taxis and restaurants, but we struggled a bit in translation. Overall this was a surprisingly neat find in... More

Stayed for 4 nights in October 2014. The hotel is a renovated grand casa 2 blocks from the Zocalo and about 6 block (10mins) from the Artisans Market. Street is busy in the day but very quiet at night. We stayed in Room 3, on the 2nd floor. Recommend this floor if possible as it is away from the central... More

This hotel was booked due to being a "boutique hotel with 4 stars"- except there is no way this hotel has 4 stars at all. Nice building, but needs a lot of work. We requested an AC room but did not get it, only, ceiling fan. Most employees don't speak English but we are bilingual so doesn't matter. Food in... More

I am puzzled as to all the positive reviews for this hotel, which must be based on the personality of the manager and the servers. Yes, everyone is nice but I found the place to be quite shabby , and except for the daytime manager no one speaks English. It was painful to try to get a restaurant recommendation from... More

My newlywed wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in March 2014. The staff was great, the building is wonderful and Oaxaca is muy chido. The staff was very friendly, although they didn't speak much English. Our check in was handled efficiently and quickly; we even got complimentary shots of Mezcal! Our room was on the landing of a... Located several blocks from the Zocalo, this is a gem of a hotel offering excellent service, beautiful decor, and privacy with a most comfortable and well-appointed room. Andrea, who manages the hotel, and all the staff were so willing and helpful to make sure all my needs were met...from finding a private taxi, discovering fine eating spots, and offering a... More

We spent a week in Oaxaca during the holidays. We went primarily to see the Radish Festival and the ruins of Monte Alban. Experiencing the Christmas traditions was a delight. Andrea, the manager, was personable and made us feel at home. When you had enough of the crowds, it was nice to have quiet place nearby to retreat to. I... More

This is a classy old mansion that has been turned into a small scale hotel while retaining it's old fashioned charm. The rooms are very spacious, clean and containing all the amenities that I look for - modern bed with a firm mattress, excellent bathroom with shower, in room safe, good lighting and comfortable furniture. I always felt very safe... More
