Finally a Hotel with air condition and a tv in the room. It seemed like Heaven. The Staff was Excellent !! They must have changed Breakfast since the other reviews. The Breakfast was huge - Cantalope, Papaya, Banana, Apples, Sweetrolls, Toast, Cereal, Yoghurt, Coffee machine, milk and juice. Free internet service. We were very thankful for this hotel since we... more

My wife and I are always very polite when staying at hotels and rarely complain or leave bad reviews, but we feel compelled to do so for Casa de los Frailes. We arrived at almost 11pm on the Thursday before Good Friday and were advised by the receptionist that our reservation was not on their system. We had our confirmation... more

This small, quaint hotel is close to the center of town, and all the action, but is on a quiet street with little traffic. The family run hotel was SO accommodating, and friendly. the hotel is spotless, and the contiential breakfast daily was more than enough. We also had free internet access. This is a GREAT place to stay in... more

Spent two weeks here most of the time in a double special room which was spacious and comfortable. Had microwave, bathtub and lots of furniture and drawers. Had to spend 3 nights in a double room. It was cramped and I would not stay here very long if that was all I could get. The breakfast varied depending who was... more

A gem! My husband and I stayed at Casa de los Frailes for eleven days in Feb. '09. This small hotel is lovely, cozy, cheery, spotless, and tastefully decorated. The rooms were large and very comfortable. Our suite had it's own patio. On the roof there is a comfortable sitting area with a view of the city. Margarita, the owner,... more

I read the past reviewer's comments ( about noise). We were on the first floor - and we were there for a Friday and Saturday night - we did not have problems with noise.. and I would be upset if there were noise- but it was quiet . Our overhead fan was squeaky but other than that - Breakfast was... more

Several of our relatives and friends (both Mexicans and Americans) stayed here when we were married in Oaxaca and everyone raved about it. I got to see several of the rooms as a result and they were really nice, one even had it's own private terrace with a seating area. The staff as very friendly and helpful, I always thought... more

A great location, BUT. Don't count on restfull nights. The rooms are exposed and on Friday and Saturday in particular we had substantial street and, sadly, guest noise until after 3 am. The service is obliging and friendly, but it was still necessary to wake up the staff at 7.30 to get breakfast going..which, according to a front desk notice... more
