Staff was always very attentive. They were continuously cleaning and painting. Restaurant was pleasant and had great food. Walking distance to the Zocalo, shopping, marketplace and many restaurants. We were able to book all the tours at the front desk. Our room was perfect for two people, modest but with air conditioning and flat screen TV and was newly remodeled.... More

We loved this hotel; the courtyard, balconies and pool are great common areas. Our room was clean and simple, tucked away from the Main Street (very small window onto an air shaft?) This hotel was dog friendly so it could get noisy with many dogs staying.

Amazing location, clean, and friendly, I would consider staying there again, but it misses the mark in ways that you might want to be aware of. The Good: - Location: perfect. At a block and a half away from the Zocalo (the main square) and two short blocks from the pedestrian street, this hotel is ideally located. - Staff: friendly,... More

We stayed at Hotel Casantica after a week long tour with Traditions Mexico. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with patience and knowledge. Marguerite was especially helpful, she spoke excellent English. They arranged our tours, suggested restaurants, and ordered taxis for side trips. Marguerite also helped us call the airlines to help us... More

Great location just one block away from main square, very clean and comfortable, old historic building. Very recommendable. You can get different kinds of rooms depending on what you are looking for. You can also get tour information of the most important attractions near by.

Delightful hotel in a converted XVI convent. Situated a few minutes walk from all the main sites and the Zocalo. Galleried courtyard at entrance and very well equipped rooms. Small swimming pool. Did not use the restaurant as wanted to eat locally.

We had a wonderful 12 days at this hotel in Oaxaca. It's very centrally located, the rooms are very well-done, the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel breakfast was excellent. I should also mention how helpful and attentive the staff was. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Oaxaca.

We spent a week at Hotel Casantica during Christmas. Our first room (205) was at the back of the hotel on the second floor. Strangely this is a very echo prone part of the hotel. And this room gets noise from a disco located on the other side of the wall where music vibrations came through til 2:40 AM. We... More

This hotel is in a lovely old building in the historic centre of Oaxaca. The room was comfortable and clean. Nearby there are fantastic restaurants, shops and museums. Things we liked about this hotel: Peaceful ambience, shady internal courtyards with lots of space and tables for sitting outside. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Things we were not so...
