Hotel Casantica promised to be a lovely hotel, in the heart of the city. The location was excellent, blocks from anywhere we wanted to go. The restaurant was a 5-Star experience and the waitstaff went above and beyond. The issues we had were with the manager of the hotel, Angelica. She moved us from one room to another (no reason... I spent four nights at this hotel with my family. We arrived around noon which was way ahead check-in time. However, they were nice enough to give us our reserved room early. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very well kept. It has a charming court. My kids enjoyed the swimming pool. Our plan included a delicious cooked to order... More

This charming small hotel is a renovated ex-convent that is a couple of blocks from the Zocalo and an easy walk to the Santo Domingo Cathedral, as well as many other interesting sites. The rooms are all different configurations, as you might expect for an ex- convent. Regardless of the size of the room, each one is well appointed. This... More

This charming hotel is within walking distance of the Zocalo and Alcala pedestrian street. In fact it's within walking distance of pretty much everything one would want to see in the historic downtown area of the city. It features a wonderful central courtyard with tables and umbrellas where my friends and I drank many delicious margaritas. Several rooms overlook the... More

The room we were allocated when we arrived had a strong drain smell and so did the second one they offered us, but the third one was fine. They had a nice pool and roof top seating area near the restaurant. It was nice and close to all the main areas and is a very pretty area to visit

This hotel is within a couple of blocks of the Zocalo and Avenida Alcalá, and thus close to nearly everything in the center. Four of us stayed here the last week of March, 2015. It is done in a colonial-type style with two patios, one taken up mostly by a pool, and the restaurant is adequate. Breakfast is included (or... More

A lovely hotel with rooms grouped around a central courtyard with pool.Rooms were small but well-equipped and with good toileteries. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. The hotel is conveniently situated close to all sites.

It's always difficult, even with TripAdvisor, to pick a hotel in a new city. And with an eight night stay, it's even more chancy. But our semi-blind choice of Casantica turned out to be perfect. We arrived close to midnight, after a long day of travel, and had splurged a bit by having the hotel car meet us. Good choice... More

The Hotel by definition is a converted Monastery, therefore the rooms are quirky, all doors lead out onto internal courtyards, one with a swimming pool, There are poorly lit but don't let that put you of. The staff are very helpful and speak English very well. the cleaning staff never stop, the place is extremely clean, the hotel is very... More

Hotel is attractive and centrally located, and the front desk staff are polite and helpful. Courtyards including the one with the pool are cool and inviting. Cleaning staff are friendly and thorough. Prices are reasonable. But . . . (1) it was a convent so rooms are VERY dark and poorly lit (especially for reading after the sun sets); (2)... More
