Beautiful room. Very large, high ceiling . Clean bathroom. Decent restaurant .Some nights has a show featuring folk dances from all over Mexico. Located right on the zocalo . Very reasonable price. No parking, but you don't want to drive in Oaxaca

We stayed at this Hotel Aug, 2012 and as per the other reviews the hotel is a little dated, and basic. But for all that the location is second to none as it's right on the main square. The Hotels small restaurant serves a good breakfast and as is the rest of Oaxaca the prices are very reasonable. We had... More

We love this hotel, and have stayed there every time we have gone to Oaxaca. It is a no-frills hotel: the blankets are getting old, and the matresses are lumpy. However, the location is fabulous, the spaces are grand, and it is very inexpensive. The hotel looks out onto the main square adjacent to the zocalo, and faces the Cathedral... More

While you cannot beat the location of this hotel (it's right beside the Zocalo and on the town square), you don't get much for your money. The hotel is elegant in its style but is getting very run down. They turn off ALL the lights at night so if you have an early check out, you run the risk of... More

I found this hotel on tripadvisor and booked through the booking.com link on tripadvisor. The booking.com price was supposed to cover a 3 day stay for my family. At check-in, the price was different and higher. (The booking.com price did not include a 19% tax and I understand that. My complaint is the rate well beyond the 19%, more than... More

Like walking through the doors of History. This old dame has withstood the perils of time. Although a little weather beaten, She deserves her spot among the many historical facades that surround her. In need of some TLC, this hotel still has many attributes to promote. The newer bathrooms have just the right style to complement the romance of the... More

Hotel Monte Alban is an authentic 18th-century hotel. It is built of beautiful green cantera stone, the distinct volcanic stone unique to the region. Located in the historic quarter of Oaxaca across from the Cathedral, it is conveniently located by the Zocalo. It features a colonial-style courtyard with large glazed ceiling, archways and a restaurant. Originally the hotel was built... More

I just got back after spending a week at the Hotel Monte Alban. First off it is right across from the Church on the large Zacolo, perfect for people watching if you have a Balcony facing the square. The hotel is old and full of history. Originally it was built as a private residence for the Bishop of the church.... More
