My husband and I flew to Oaxaca this past April. We enrolled in a Spanish language school in Oaxaca for a month. He doesn't do well on stairs. We rented an apartment. We didn't like the apartment. After about two weeks we moved to Casa de la Tia Tere on the recommendation of another student. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in... More

In November 2013 I hosted the inaugural 'Spirit of Oaxaca: Mezcal and Beer Lovers' Cultural Tour'. Casa de la Tere was the hotel our group of 16 stayed in for the week. It was perfectly suited to my needs as an organizer and tour host because it combined very reasonable prices with colonial charm, very friendly service, delicious breakfasts, a... More

We stayed at the Casa de la Tia Tere for 4 nights in late-Jan and again for 2 nights on our return to Oaxaca in late-Feb ($77/night). It is a pleasant bed and breakfast located conveniently close to the Zocalo (left for 5-blks along Murguía, then left for 3-blks along Acolá, the main tourist street with a variety of restaurants... Although we were tardy in attempting to make reservations in Oaxaca for the holidays we were fortunate to locate the Tia Tere Hotel. The first impression was most positive and remained so during our stay. We had one of the bungalows that surrounded the pool and it was perfect for us, with an immaculate, generously-sized room, comfortable bed and a... More

Our stay at the Casa de la Tia Tere was fairly comfortable, though nothing amazing. The service was friendly, but at times it was hard to find someone if we had a question (granted, we were there during the busiest time of year). Breakfast is included, and the staff will make you eggs any style if you ask. There is... More

We have just had a wonderful trip to Casa de Tia Tere. They were hugely welcoming and the hotel was very peaceful and quiet. We loved sitting by the pool watching the birds and enjoying the total tranquility after the business of the city. The rooms are nice and well maintained. With breakfast and all day tea and coffee included... More

The staff at Tia Tere go above and beyond the call of duty to assist guests. I needed help ( even when I wasn't staying at the hotel) and Rozio and Rosa made taxi reservations, helped me locate the assistance I needed and otherwise did everything possible to facilitate my stay in Oaxaca City. A tip for food fans is... More

I just arrived from La Casa de la Tía Tere. It was a great trip to Oaxaca, blocks away from the Andador Turístico. The place is nice, a little noisy if you get a room in the main window and the light comes into the room as soon as the sun comes out. The staff is friendly though sometimes it... More

This little hotel has a really good location, its clean and has all the services. My only issues eith this place is that the rooms are really small, the price is a little high for what you get and you get a lot of noise in the morning. But you get the most important services in a good way.
