This was our second stay at the Casa de la Tia Tere, and we plan to return early and often. This time we met up with five friends, all of whom appreciated the hotel as much as we do. It is rare to find a reasonably priced hotel--indeed any hotel--in the center of Oaxaca that is so quiet and peaceful,... More

We were on a motor bike trip and were very happy to find a place for two nights with secure parking and not too far from the zocalo. Nice colonial structure with two courtyards with rooms around them and a pool area with bungalows. The room had everything we needed. The beds were very good with a firm matrass and... More

Three of us, a single and a double, were on the second floor of Casa de la Tia Terre for four nights and had a lovely time. My companions are fluent Spanish speakers so we got wonderful tips on where and what to eat from the lovely women who served us such good breakfasts. One morning we brought them some... More

I spent three nights at La Casa de la Tia Tere with a group of friends. Our room (one of the two-room bungalows) was beautifully kept and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and service was terrific across the board. There was a minor plumbing issue in our bathroom when we arrived, and it was fixed with a smile... More

I spent 16 days here while studying intensive Spanish in town, in the low shoulder season in late November-early December. I’d give it an enthusiastic 4.5 stars for the quality and price. I’d describe this place as being more of a very warm and pleasant small inn than a bed-and-breakfast – yes, they serve a good filling breakfast and the... More

We loved staying here. Everyone who works here is so kind, and our room was very comfortable with a nice king bed. The staff went out of their way to make us feel great and were so generous with their time and energy. We think this is a great family-run business that is professional and warm on every level. Thank... More

I stayed at Tia Tere for two nights in October and loved it. Rocio, managing the reception during the day, came to welcome me on my arrival and was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and rather spacious and the place itself was quiet and nice. The pool area is nice and the lovely breakfast was a bonus!... More

My husband and I flew to Oaxaca this past April. We enrolled in a Spanish language school in Oaxaca for a month. He doesn't do well on stairs. We rented an apartment. We didn't like the apartment. After about two weeks we moved to Casa de la Tia Tere on the recommendation of another student. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in... More

In November 2013 I hosted the inaugural 'Spirit of Oaxaca: Mezcal and Beer Lovers' Cultural Tour'. Casa de la Tere was the hotel our group of 16 stayed in for the week. It was perfectly suited to my needs as an organizer and tour host because it combined very reasonable prices with colonial charm, very friendly service, delicious breakfasts, a... More

We stayed at the Casa de la Tia Tere for 4 nights in late-Jan and again for 2 nights on our return to Oaxaca in late-Feb ($77/night). It is a pleasant bed and breakfast located conveniently close to the Zocalo (left for 5-blks along Murguía, then left for 3-blks along Acolá, the main tourist street with a variety of restaurants...
