+ breakfast: eggs, toast, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea, orange juice + location: 5 min to zocalo + clean + good WiFi - only one plug in the room - if you sleep next to the street it's very noisy (and we're used to noise) - they charge you to use the internet on the computer - no atmosphere/nice furniture at... I have stayed at Hostel Paulina probably 5 times since 2007 and it's always been excellent. The staff is incredibly helpful. (I had credit card problems and they were amazing) They remember me by name when I return-and years later recognize me in the streets of Oaxaca and say hello. I agree with one reviewer that it can be noisy-but... More

It was good for relaxing and visiting around! The beds are fine but not wonderful as thought as being orthopaedic and the only bad think is the lack of sockets in our room. 2 sockets for a 9 bedroom... so it was kind of a mess. The breakfast was really good with fresh orange juice. The hostal was 2 blocks... More

The hostel is very clean, brand new, and very central. Depending on when you go, it can be pretty weird too. I arrived there on Thursday and was the only guest there. It really felt like being in a hospital.. The next day few more people arrived and it felt a bit more like a youth hostel. I thought about... More

Clean + comfortable + charming + spacious... these are just some of the qualities this hotel has to offer. Its located only a few blocks from the main square.. Don't miss out the roof top and the breakfast!!! Private rooms available, but even shared rooms were fine as people were super cool.

Best low budget option in town, clean and polite with a great breakfast. You can get a dorm room for just two and pay a slight premium. Te street is a bit noisy so try and grab a room on the inside courtyard.

I loved staying in this hostal. It's extremely clean, friendly, the location is perfect, and breakfast is amazing. We stayed there four nights during the Guelaguetza and it was one of the best places to stay, It's definitely worth staying there!

The cleaner and nicest hostel in Oaxaca. you can rent full rooms or just a bed. They clean the bathrooms three of four times a day and the breakfast chef is an artist and cooks just delicious. A must to stay here.

Pros: Spacious rooms, impeccably clean, good beds and pillows, great breakfasts (coffee, cereal, eggs, fruit, yogurt, etc), nice little pond and courtyard, nice terrace especially around sunset, located near the markets and zocalo so easy walking to most places, super hot showers (although you have to let the water run for a while). Cons: No airflow in the rooms (and no... More

We didn't really spend much time in the hostel. But we were happy with the excellent laundry service, clean rooms, hot shower, big breakfast and friendly personnel who answered our questions. There is a free internet access. We also liked the possibility to store our luggage for a day before leaving on the nightbus.
